Talking about of these new coaches maybe to need to look at a few things. Kirby has a lot to prove still. He came into a situation with a load of talent already on the roster and a state rich in talent that most want to play at UGA. No different then the situation Saban left Miles at LSU who won a NC year 2 years but once his recruits started hitting the field player development was not the same and coaching lacked and LSU became what it is now. Proving talent can win. So the question is can Kirby develop players and coach in the big games.
Regarding Pruitt I think he may be closer to getting the same results in a program that Saban does more then Kirby. His disadvantage is Saban came into UA and was able to roster manipulate until Ole Miss signed like 40 players mostly sign and place which resulted in the rule getting changed to 25. Saban to build the program at UA was able to gut the roster and fill it with his players early. Pruitt will not have that ability so it may take him 4 years to get UT in position to win the SEC and go farther.
You may not see 10+ wins the first two years but you will see a different game out there with players showing a passion to win that has not be seen in Neyland for a long time. Pruitt has that it factor with the players on and off the field.
Good post. Agree completely.
