Cover 2 is a basic defense which every football team relies on. Players must execute for it to be effective. Players do have responsibilities when they play the game. Some can; some can't. Those who do help win games. Those who don't help lose games.

NFL players fall for it all the time as well. It’s called being human. The safety is forced to choose as the routes, as they are designed, force him. If he goes high and outside, the route of the middle has single, and vice versa. It happens at the highest levels of football and is often a no win situation. He went with the QBs eyes, as even nfl safeties often do, and Tua made him pay for the wrong decision. This wasn’t bad coaching, it was a decision made by a player trying to make a play in the most pressure packed situation.

Bama 247 calling him a lock. He told them that Tn is no longer his leader and talking to Saban was a dream. Sounds like this might be over and he’s going to bama

Not to mention the fact that they had 3 WRs to the right of the formation.

Ah I see. Pruitt with the ol bluff. Spend all this time with Eddie Smith, get Bama to think he’s TN top guy so vengeful Lord Saban will swoop in to steal.

All the while sweet talking the mama’s of OG and ITS to come to TN. Ah yea. Don’t think for one second Pruitt didn’t pull an old sabotage on the recruiting boards before he left.

Not sure where the lock is coming from but right now most of our guys seem to think if we only take 2 DBs it looks like ITS and J Irvin(was on OV this past weekend and is projected at S). With P Surtain as a long shot.

Fwiw, it seems likely to me the Vols get both of them. USC appears to be a real threat for Griffin, but I think UA ends up getting a couple of other DBs. I sense Griffin's dad could feel it just might be in Olaijah's best interest to get out of LA for college/FB. Jmo.

The 247 article I was told states E Smith no longer has a leader but names a top 3 of UT, MSU, and UA. Saban visited him last night and Pruitt afterwards.
