Yes they are very good friends but Brendon is very open right now. Offers are coming from abroad. This kid is getting offers daily a few off the top of my head are Oklahoma, Fla, Purdue, Baylor, and Penn St. I'll be honest I hope Warren can get this one done early because he will only blow up more and ge more offers. The good thing is he's coached by former Vol Eric Westmoreland at Baylor whom had told Martinez to get in on this kid early but ......... I'll leav it at that.

Eric Westmoreland's hit on the Vandy receiver in '98 was pure beauty and violence all at once

That hit was one of my favorite Vol memories. I was ten years old and I remember sitting in the living room with my dad when it happen and we both jumped out of our seat.

Junior Day this weekend...

The four star safety has offers from Clemson, Oklahoma and Tennessee among others so getting him to Knoxville is important. Harris is one of the better players in the state in a deep year. Safety in the class of 2018 might not on the surface appear to be a position of need but when you project a couple of years down the road, safety is a need in the class and Harris is one of the better safeties in the south.

"Brendan Harris really likes Tennessee and stay in state is a big deal. Clemson and LSU are in it. Got to spend a ton of time with Warren and Shoop. Will be back for spring."

- Price

Is there really any where else to go in-state, if it is a big deal? I'm going to go ahead and give this an early boom.

Didn't see it posted in this thread, but in tweet thread he said he was our #1 priority on defense.

As I've said in other threads these new coaches are pusing the right buttons and saying the right things. All of our kids left UT Jr Day with a new and brighter outlook on things. Warren like Wells seems to be a stud hire.

In Butch's first few years he recruited fine. When did the assistants start turning players off for lack of a better term?

Or was it just the same few assistants bringing in everyone from the beginning?

Perhaps egos were dropped from UT with coaching departures and new coaches become agreeable with NPA.

“I’m their No. 1 prospect on the defensive side right now,” Harris said Saturday following Tennessee’s junior day. “I like to hear that.”

...“I’m definitely considering coming to play at Tennessee. They’re home,” he said. “It’s definitely a big pull. … If I was to come, I might have a chance to play early. I’ll be in-state, so my family could come (to games). They really have a special thing here at Tennessee.”

Top247 safety Brendon Harris of Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tenn., always has liked Tennessee, and Saturday’s visit did nothing to change that. But the race for Harris could prove to be one of the Vols’ biggest in-state recruiting battles in the 2018 class. Sources close to Harris have continued to indicate that he’s keeping an open mind, and while he’s high on Tennessee, he said Clemson, LSU, Auburn and Florida also are among his favorites. A source said Florida State has shown interest in Harris and could offer him soon, and that could make the Seminoles a contender, too. The Vols will remain a strong contender for Harris throughout his recruitment, but they likely will face serious competition from the growing list of major programs pursuing him.

Better than Mays???? Not sure I agree, but yes, a prospect to get for sure.

I would rank top 5 in state as:

1. Mays
2. Emerson
3. Harris
4. Teague
5. Wray

I am pretty confidant in my 1-3 ranking, but 4-10 could probably be mixed up. The 2018 instate class is super deep. I think we take at least 10 instate guys this year. We are set up much better with instate prospects this year than last and our TN recruiters are much better as well.
