'18 TN DB Brendon Harris (UT Commit 5/19/17)

Gonna need him more badly now that we are losing 2 safeties plus with Griffin leaving so make that 3. Only having Warrior , Abernathy, Jackson and Gray at the position .

Almost typed something about that the other day when he got the offer from OSU. Guarantee you Urban is going to use that angle of being VB 2.0.

Tennessee is in good shape with most of its in-state targets, and I would say that's the case with Harris, too. But it's going to be a bit more of a battle with him, I think, than with some of the others. As he has continued to indicate, I don't think he's planning to make a decision until at least November or December, and he's still keeping a pretty open mind about a lot of teams. He always has liked Tennessee, though, and I don't think anyone is in better shape than the Vols right now.

Well that's very good news, need to lock down the state, particularly this year.

Vols are in a very good place. He's a NPA kid who bonds with Allontae a lot. They travel together a lot. His defensive cach is Eric Westmoreland. See where I'm going with this.

So, do you think the VOLS are going to really clean up in state this year? It seems like there's a lot of good momentum with a lot of the in state players.

Lots of good vibes. When I say there was a lot of dead weight shed by CBJ. You have kids calling and raving about simple instruction by new staff members. Its still early so you never know with flaky 17/18 yr old kids. I like where they stand right now with most of them.

That single line describes pretty much all of recruiting these days.

“I’m liking Tennessee a lot right now,” Harris said at the NPA event at Alcoa High on Sunday. “They have a good program. I like coach (Butch) Jones coach. Coach (Charlton) Warren would be coaching me. I just feel like the Vols are the top right now.”

Harris, who visited Tennessee in March for a Junior Day, continues to build a relationship with Warren and he’s looking forward to having more face-time with UT’s new secondary coach next Saturday. With a good familiarity around Tennessee, Harris is focused on building on his relationship with Warren and observing how he coaches.

“He’s a great coach. Really cool and down to earth,” Harris said. “I feel like it would be fun playing for him. I would learn a lot, but also I’d be able to go to him for stuff. He would just be a really cool person to (lean on) and a good teacher.”

Harris isn’t in any hurry to commit, saying, “I’m probably going to wait until after my football season because I want to see how college football season is going and how everything plans out.”

While Harris doesn’t have a top group yet, Tennessee remains in a solid spot due to his bond with commits like Cade Mays and Alontae Taylor, as well as his interest in potentially playing close to home. “I know what I’m getting from Tennessee,” he said. “You’re getting good coaches, great fan base and also just good people.”
