No doubt he'll have a speedy recovery. I just hope he doesn't rush back too soon.

It really sucks BC I thought he would go in and dominate at the opening and get his fifth star. We're still getting a great player no matter his ranking but I know he worked really hard for this. Timeline I feel like is still later in the year possibly December before he commits. If he visits OSU and Bama before then or if those teams back off for some reason I could see him pulling the trigger early. Tennessee has an enormous lead though.

What a tough break for this young man. He does have youth on his side when it comes to healing up from injuries. Even if he had to red shirt would be fine with me. This kid got way to much talent and I want to see it in a UT uniform!

As much as I want this young man to be a great player for us, the most important thing for him is to get healthy and not rush back too soon, as others have said. But I would hate for him to miss his entire sr year of hs football because you only get one of those.

Totally agree. Missing your Sr year would suck. But it didnt seem to hurt Hurd that much. Hopefully we will get to see him healthy, wearing the orange and white and terrorizing SEC QBs.

From what I'm hearing he is torn between playing and setting out. He doesn't want to let his teammates down but at the same time is also wanting to be ready for college. He will sit down with the Coaches and those close to him to weigh his options. I would not want to make that decision. My junior year I had a pretty bad injury but not to that extent and it was gut wrenching to decide if I was going to play. I got speared in the back between the shoulders and ripped the muscles from my neck. It took some intensive therapy for me to make it back. I don't envy the the decision this young man has to make. Incedintly I played a the same HS he does. I'm no insider but I do know a lot of the alumni and people close to the program, so take this with a grain of salt

For the ones who don't know , he came on NFL network at the opening . Talked about his injury then made a surprise commitment and said he couldn't wait til December and committed !
