'18 TN OT Max Wray

Don't think they needed de1 to point out the difference between Mahoney's track record and Pittman's track record. That's why I wonder if an upgrade at that position would help us out here.

I think just the way the certain poster dogs some of our coaches, especially Mahoney. I'm pretty sure I remember the certain poster making mention about why TN is taking so long to offer this kid. We don't have any confirmation that Wray was told something by NPA...just speculation.

Good enough for me.

Didn't I hear somewhere along the way that there may be a new "similar to NPA" program starting up in the Middle Tennessee area sometime in the relatively near future that has a little more UT backing? I'm pretty sure I did and if so...good.

Whether they needed it or not is not the point I would guess. If in fact they are getting it from a program, that is being run in TN, that is a whole different ball of wax.

A ball of wax that I think may be finding themselves being pushed out of the area if they are not careful.

Pretty sure that info is accurate.

I had ignored this thread but, wells, I felt the need to dig it out of the ignore bin. The new coaching additions have us back in it and I hope I walt have to ignore it again. This one seemed out of our reach with some of the previous coaches but no wray we can count out the new coaching additions! GBO!

Lol...you could come out of a coma with no perceived knowledge of the time of year, come on to VN, and guess fairly accurately what time of the year it is, based on the different conversations in different threads.

Very true. The limited number of FF "posters" are a key indicator that it is immediately following NSD and they don't care about recruiting anymore and won't for about 10 months.

If he sticks with UGA then it is the exact same situation we're in now. It'll only sting if we fail on the oline

Actually, the first time one of our DBs gets burned in a game, they will be over here in force trying to scream we need more 5 stars in the secondary.

It is easy to negative recruit a position group when it is seen as a weak link for your team. Why wouldn't an instate player look elsewhere? I know some think replacing Mahoney with Wells was not on their fantasy staff, but at the point we were at, any change might give kids like Wray a reason to give another look.

Nice plays on words, but you forgot to say at the end, let's see if they can max it out.

I agree with Glitch

Georgia's OL was not as good as ours last year.

Yea, and did you see their OL recruiting class this year? You win with DL, OL, and QB play. UGA will have all three very soon. Kirby recruited about 6 4 star OL, 3 of which are 6'6" and 300 pounds+ out of high school. Go look at our recruiting of OL in Butch's first years and compare it to UGA's 2017 class. UGA isn't taking Ray Raulerson at 275 out of high school or Marcus* Tatum at 260. UGA is taking big dudes who don't need 3 years of peanut butter and weight training to compete. That's the recipe it takes to win week in and week out in the SEC. For every Smith we get, we take 2 OL projects as well. On top of that, Dobbs, Hurd, and Kamara aren't here any longer to mask our OL issues. In turn, Butch and company are going to have to coach our boys up big time, otherwise, we are looking at a 7-5 or 8-4 record next year at best.

1. It's Jack Jones or Marcus Tatum

2. Good thing all those guys you are talking about needing peanut butter are going to be juniors now and will be caught up with Georgias freshman class.

Our OL will be one of the best position groups on the field and the best OL we have had since '13

Please tell me you aren't comparing Ga's situation when Kirby took over with Tennessee's situation when Butch took over. Even the worst Butch hater can't make that case.

Oh and we have beaten them 2 straight. So there's that.

When you're in year 1, you can come up with a whole lot more excuses. When you're in year 4, not so much.

I just hope Wells is as much of an upgrade from a coaching standpoint as he seems to be in recruiting. If so, we might actually come out and knock somebody off the line of scrimmage. If we turn it around and UGA continues to struggle, I could see us getting back in it for this guy. Especially after reading how high little bro seems to be on Wells.

A fan of 49 years and we had less talent when coach Jones took over than we every had in my 49 years as a fan.:eek:hmy:
