I'm glad it has worked in our favor, and helped get us back in the running here. But I'm pretty surprised that's all it took from Georgia to ruin a good relationship with this kid and his family. Seems like we might be walking on eggshells with this kid up to NSD and beyond even if he does commit to us. Because that's some serious sensitivity, either from dad or from Max himself.
Did you notice how he commented on Alabama and LSU, then he made the statement of "having said that"? When I hear that phrase in recruiting, it makes me think that the next school the person is about to speak about is the one that is the favorite, or at least where they are leaning at the moment.

But with high school kids it is difficult to determine where they will fit in before you get them on the field. A coach should never make promises to a kid other than the kid will be given every opportunity to show what he can do.
Spot on. Much easier to move a T to G vs a G to T.
I was under the impression Smith would be a tackle. Thanks for the info.Very much so and I'm very pleased with Wells 1st decision as OL coach. I told guys Trey Smith was an interior guy. Trey isn't a OT but will be a high draft pk as a very good OG. It takes a special skillset as a big guy to play OT. It also revolves around arm length, footwork, and the ability to open up your hips against elite pass rushers.
