'18 TN OT Max Wray

Sounds like he likes the lure of playing for the home team, but he definitely finds the other programs more appealing.

Maybe you need to look up "pragmatic" in the dictionary. Hoping something happens that Vol fans would not like is not pragmatic. It is a good bit trollish.

This vol fan is realistic enough to know that Max will be lucky to see the field until his redshirt sophomore season. Daddy and Max won't be happy campers. Jalen Hurd 2.0, rather use that scholarship elsewhere, mainly because of daddy.

Best not go to OSU or Bama then. They're 2+ deep at every position.

From Barton Simmons:

"Tennessee, Alabama, LSU and Ohio State," Wray said on Sunday afternoon. "Those are the four schools that I'm zeroed in on."

By narrowing it to those four schools, Wray plans to take the next few weeks with his family to mull over his options before making a final decision that is likely to come in mid-May.

"I just need to ind the place that's going to make me fulfill my potential the best and where I fit in not only as a football player but as a person too," he said. "I'm looking for like-minded people to me and where I just fit in."

Each of Wray's four finalists has hosted the 6-foot-6, 290-pounder on multi-day visits with his family and he's now seen enough to weigh his options without taking any more visits. Wray touched on each of the four finalists and why they're in the hunt.

"Tennessee, it's just the home town team. They've got a great coach in Coach (Walt) Wells and they're definitely on the rise. It would just be cool to play for my state.

"Alabama is the best in the business. They put people in the league every year. It's the best program with the best facilities and the best coaches.

"LSU is really turning things around and I really believe in Coach (Orgeron), Coach (Matt) Canada and Coach (Jeff) Grimes. (General Manager) Austin Thomas is a big part of that too.

"Ohio State, Coach (Urban) Meyer, Coach (Kevin) Wilson and Coach (Greg Studrawa), they're all great coaches and have a track record of being great coaches. They're a powerhouse like Alabama with great facilities and all the guys are really cool. It's just an all-around great place."

Tennessee's facilities are right there with anyone

I think everyone knows I fall on the side of the sunshiners but it does seem like his father enjoys the process more than Max does.
Seems like the dad should be behind the scenes and only concerned with what ever his son wants. Having said that I hope he chooses Tenn..

So you think a 17 year old has the life experience to make the best decisions concerning their college and futures and their parents should but out? If so, you and I are polar opposite on this topic. I hope all these recruits bring their parents along to help them determine truth from recruiting BS and then listen to their parent's advise.

hello Mr. Wray. How was the trip to Columbus?

what people have been saying is that the dad seems to be enjoying the process more than the son, and maybe making it too much living vicariously through his sons. Nothing wrong with mom and dad being involved, quite the opposite, but hopefully its just input and not just what mom or dad wants. like that kid who parent would only sign with one school and the kid transferred out to go to UCLA or somewhere?

Every recruiting sitch is different if you have to win over the dad, mom, uncle or family dog then that is what you have to do.
