This is my second commitment. (Coffee County Central) coach (Ryan) Sulkowski told me before I committed to Tennessee that, when I committed, that was it, said Taylor, who previously was committed to Vanderbilt.
You dont find many kids that decommit, anyway. But when you do find them, when they commit to their second place, most likely thats what theyre going to call home. I mean, Im still going to sit here and listen to coaches and see what they have to offer. But Im pretty locked on Tennessee right now.
When you commit to a school, you commit to a school for the team and everything, but you also want to look at the fan bases and things like that, said Taylor, whos ranked by 247Sports as the nations No. 198 overall prospect and No. 14 athlete in the 2018 class.
When I started seeing how the fans were talking to Kongbo and Jalen Hurd, I kind of felt like, What if that was me? You dont want that fan base thats going to talk bad about your players. They loved Jalen Hurd at first, but then, when all that stuff happened, now theyre starting to turn their backs on him, so its something that I also look at.
As far as my commitment goes, Im still solid right now, he said. I have a year left, so Im going to take advantage of that and listen to what all these other coaches have to say. Ive visited Tennessee, like, 15 times now, so Ive seen game days there. I know what its like there. Now I have to go with my other players who are getting recruited, as well, and show them the ropes of what recruitments like.
You cant determine where you go because of a loss or a record. I believe in everything that Coach Jones is doing at UT. I believe in everything that Coach Z is doing with the receivers, so I think thats whats best for me right now.
