'18 TN QB/WR Alontae Taylor (UT commit 6/18/16)

It's sad this 16 year old has felt the need to post and make it public that he is not decommitting from UT more than once. Can't be a good look w/ such desperate fans.

He perpetuated any such comments with his original tweet. People generally make known their feelings on social media because they want a reaction, be it either positive or controversial. You can't complain when people react to it.

"change of plans i will not be attending any tennessee games for the remainder of the season .. No questions please," tweeted taylor, who's ranked by 247sports as the nation's no. 198 overall prospect and no. 14 athlete in the 2018 class.

The 6-foot, 180-pound taylor clarified his tweet in a text message to govols247 on tuesday afternoon, explaining that he simply has "seen everything i've needed to see" at tennessee.

He also tweeted, "i am not decommitting from tennessee .. #gbo."

"i've seen how a game day is at tn," he told govols247. "i've seen everything i've needed to see. I've visited 14 times since freshman year! I wanna support by teammates and go on visits with them as well!"

It (his tweet) could be about UT football or 1 million other things that might be going through the mind of 16/17 year old teenager high schooler. People need to stop being so sensation, desperate, and nosey.

If Alontae has something to say he'll say it. Stop bombarding him with questions, it's his life.

Maybe his grades are slipping and his parents said "you ain't going anywhere till you get your grades up, young man!"

Millions of possibilities

Exactly and I know if I had hundreds of fans tweeting me in desperation I'd get sick of it after awhile and eventually it would become repulsive.

Well in all fairness, why does he even need to tweet out what he did? I mean would we really notice that he didn't attend any of our last 3 home games?

I understand the right to privacy, but when you put yourself out there in social media, it's typically because you want a reaction. If you don't want to deal with the fallout, then don't make your opinions available to the world through Twitter, Facebook, etc., make your account private, or don't have social media accounts to begin with.

We can't blame people for responding to his comments made amidst the perceived turmoil over the past few days, and it's probably naive to think he wasn't looking for a reaction/attention from those comments. No one is forcing him to make himself available through social media. You just can't absolve these kids of all responsibility and put the blame solely on the fans. Social media is a two-way street.

And for the record, I'm not on Twitter.

Some of our fans need to learn something from this. They see things on social media, especially twitter, and jump to conclusions. This tweet by Taylor and the Kongbo tweet are perfect examples. Kongbo took a lot of abuse from enraged Vol fans. Abuse that he did not deserve. All because they read something into a tweet that was not there.

Did he say he wants to go on visits with his teammates? Doesn't he play on like a 1-9 team? How many teammates could possibly go on visits from a 1-9 team? My head hurts.... I need to take a nap. 🤔😣🤕💤

Weird admission. What would a male use a female contraceptive device for exactly...medical wise?

I only said diaphragm because you said diagram. Don't you get it? Nothing weird about it. Having some fun. Diaphragm & Diagram are spelled awful closely. :p:wink:

But mean TOTALLY different things. So to summarize, you "have fun" with female prophylactic devices? You're a wild card Tony. :ermm:
