I think it has to do with more analysts viewing more film. You can only see so much before initial rankings, and I'm sure there is s grading process that happens. As it proceeds, we get updates

Not to go full Bologna, but why does this thread still show Alontae as a commit? He is not committed and we should not take such a talented player for granted.

Hope he signs with the good guys.

Alontae Taylor still is keeping his options open, but he’s now feeling a bit more confident in his longstanding commitment to Tennessee.

The Top247 junior athlete Coffee County Central High School in Manchester, Tenn., said Thursday night that he’s still planning to visit one other college in the near future, but he remains committed to the Vols and his relationship with new Tennessee wide receivers coach Kevin Beard is “getting strong and better” every day.

While the 6-foot, 182-pound Taylor is “still open,” he said he’s a “firm commitment” for Tennessee. The 6-foot, 182-pound Taylor said his growing relationship and comfort level with Beard, who officially joined the Vols’ staff last week, is “a huge reason” he intends to take fewer visits to other schools and feels better about his commitment to Tennessee.

He added that he’s a “firm commitment,” and he plans to visit the Vols again “sometime during spring practice” to meet with Beard and attend one of their practices.

“Talked to (Beard) today, and our relationship is just getting stronger and better day by day,” said Taylor[.] “He’s a different type of coach. We talk more than X’s and O’s. We talk family. We talk beliefs — things that other coaches hit, but not go into depth like me and Coach KB.”

Looks like hiring Beard saved us from losing Taylor. Hopefully he stops the "twitter games" and honors his commitment.

He's already calling him an informal nickname. Not to read too much into something, but at a glance that's a great sign for us. It definitely shows it isn't just lip service about his relationship with the new WR coach being good.

Haney is actively promoting negative recruiting articles against UT. You have to think at this point he's taking cash from another coaching staff to pump these messages out there. I've never heard of an OPINION from an UNNAMED source being legitimate news for a reputable website. There are absolutely no facts associated with what he's doing. And the sad thing is that our own fanbase is falling for it.

I've wondered about that. As much money that is floating around CFB now, it's not crazy to think a rival would shell a few grand to a recruiting site journalist to further their negative recruiting agenda.
