'18 TN RB Master Teague

Agree with Catbone.

It sucks in head to head recruiting, but a strong LSU and Auburn benefits Tennessee unless playing against each other

Agreeing with Catbone feels a bit odd but I have too as well. Whatever causes UF and UGA grief is almost as good as getting the player ourselves. As long as we can beat them, I like the idea of good Barn and LSU teams.

Yep. Auburn, LSU, Florida State, Miami are good for Tennessee when they are solid.

I agree with you and the Cat on this.

Well that explains why I voted for him. :)

I'm done having kids but I still can't come up with a single good reason to part with the fellas. Well..... nope. Not even a single stupid reason.

Agree.. except for the fact that we aren't beating them. One win against the two combined in the last 15 years.

At first I thought you meant UGA and UF but I thought surely you don't mean them. We seem to be on the rotation to get the West teams at their best. And of course we have not been our best for the past decade either.

I do not think this year we are getting LSU at their best.

It seems this is said every year about our west opponent before the season and then they come out of nowhere.

TAMU had the second best record last year.
Arkansas wasnt great in 2015.
Ole Miss was #3 when we played them in 14.
Auburn had their run to the NC in 13.
Mississippi state was ranked in 12 when we played them.
In 11, the last year with 3 west teams, we played #1 LSU, #2 Alabama, and number 8 arkansas
in 10 we played #12 LSU and Ole Miss (smoked Ole Miss)
09 we played Auburn and Ole Miss (who smoked us)
08 we played #15 Auburn and Mississippi state
07 was Arkansas and Mississippi state (won both of those) but we played LSU in the SEC and lost

so yeah we almost always have the worst draw from the west.

Unless LSU miraculously solves Its QB problem they will not be coming out of nowhere. And based on its soring game their QB situation is still a disaster. LSU will be similar to UF last season with a great D and a weak offense, although Guice is certainly a better RB than anyone UF could put on the field last season.

I think Canada is a better OC than UF though and LSU's OL should be better than that weak ass OL UF brought to Neyland.

QB will be a limiting factor for them for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if Canada manages to turn their QB (forgot his name) into a pretty decent game manager. Whoever they put under center will have the supporting cast to do well: he'll just need to be coached up to protect the ball and take what defenses give him.

Idk how well LSU will do because as good as their talent and OC/DC are, Orgeron's ability as a HC is a huge question. But if they can limit turnovers and play well on defense, then their QB wont have to be THAT good for them to be a 10 win team IMO.

Zero chance EdO wins 10 reg season games

The talent is there for 10 wins and he's got the right OC/DC.

The only question is whether the HC can bring it all together

They lost Fournette (Guide is probably just as talented), their top 2 WRs, and still a big ??? at QB. All in a new offensive system. The defense, as usual, will keep them in most games, but they lost a lot on that side too in K. Beckwith, Jamal Adams, Duke Riley, etc.

10 wins in the SEC west will be quite an accomplishment for Coach O. It's no guarantee and I'd even call it unlikely. I'd put the o/u at 9. Games @Miss St, @UF, @Bama, @TN, and @Ole Mess.

I'm just saying the talent is there and they have the right OC/DC in place for LSU to have that type of season. I'm not predicting they will, because I'm not bullish on coach O and it also wouldn't surprise me if he finds a way to royally f*** up a situation where just about any HC in the SEC could turn on autopilot and coast to at least 9 wins.

They lost a lot of guys, but they'll be strong in the trenches as usual and the way they recruit (top 7 ever year since 2013 with 2 top 5 classes) means they'll have as much talent on the field as any opponent not named Alabama.
