'18 TN RB Master Teague

I'm starting to wonder if I even want him here. As good as he is, he is treating us as a second rare school. If these guys are to be believed, we are way behind these other schools if OSU or Clemson offers, or if Ga gets White. I mean, if you don't want to go to the home state school and represent, I don't like being the leftovers. If he commits tomorrow I'll be excited, but I hope these guys are wrong that we are hosnfall back option basically

Lets put that shoe on your foot for a second then. You are offered a job at 24-25 places(same job) Do you consider just one offer because you like that boss? I am a UT fan through and through, but I gotta give props to these kids that have all these offers, If you are worth a plug nickle you are not just looking at the ball program, but academia as well. I still think he winds up a VOL. I get the feeling the camp around him is a little disappointed that he didn't get consideration, when his stats and performance " rivals" that of the top 10 let alone those ranked above him that fall in without those stats.

Dixon and Grant is good. Also Dixon and a great back which at least a few will present themselves during their senior campaign is also good. If Teague wants out of state, that's cool with me, spread your wings little bird and good luck to you. The Vols will carry on.

I see your point but sometimes leftovers turn out to be great. I'm sure we have a few guys on the roster now that wanted a specific offer to attend another school and it didn't happen, and I'm sure they are happy now.

On a side note, I had left over Mexican food for lunch, now why is it left over Mexican food is great but left over Taco Bell is like hot garbage?

I get what you're saying, and if he was from GA or somewhere, I wouldn't care. The fact that he is from TN though and feels that way is what bothers me. But yeah, left over taco bell

Seems pretty obvious that he wants the Ohio State or Clemson offer most of all.

So, get Dixon and another back.

While this young man seems to have impeccable character, it would be a real temptation for him if he were to commit to UT and in October/November Ohio State or Clemson offer him because another one of their prospects decommits for him to turn it down if he's so set on getting their offer.

I could care more. Get me two guys that our staff really like and it will be fine. Guys like John Kelly are just fine. Teague wants to go OSU then go and enjoy your life up there because I would rather hire a UT guy any day who is qualified. If he was on film a no question guy then he wouldn't have to go run for them. Yes, I know what he did against Maryville. I agree with whoever said we need two top rated running backs in this class. That will work regardless if one of them is Teagie or not.

As the days go by I really feel like this dude really just hates Tennessee imo. Don't want him here if we are 2nd option at best and just a fallback.

There is a difference between wanting an offer and actually considering a school as an option. There is a prestige that an offer from some schools bring. If all of the top schools offer you a scholarship and are openly pursuing you as a recruit then that is a good sign that you are doing something right as a player. I have zero clue as to MT's mindset or desire for his college choice, but maybe he would like to get the big offers to prove to the rest of the country that he is really that good. Like someone else noted, he and his family are known as people of integrity and class. Urban is not. We'll see how things play out. I don't think he is a must get or the world ends, but he is a top 10 or 15 back in the country IMO and it would be great to have him in Orange versus having to see him in another schools colors.

I think the bigger issue is that it seems like he believes that Meyer and Dabo have this superior moral compass. His faith being a strong factor in his life and thus a material issue in his recruitment, he's buying the snake oil they're selling.

Losing him to either school won't affect us as much as losing him to Auburn or Georgia, but I have to agree that it would hurt losing an instate kid to a school that waited until the last possible moment to offer and pay him any kind of serious attention. OSU waited until he had set a date and had narrowed it down to a final 3 to make a move. That wouldn't make me feel special/wanted/important if I were Teague.

Just one of the games the Urb plays. Much like the girl that waits till dude has a prom date then starts flirting.

sorry but I question any kids character that buys into Urban.

I'm sorry, but impeccable character and UM do not belong in the same sentence. Not after his shenanigans at UF.

Impeccable character and Urban Meyer is an oxymoron like "Jumbo Shrimp" - or "Bama writer"....right?
