'18 TN TE Jacob Warren (UT Commit 5/24/17)

I'm pretty sure Caleb has stated that he knows a guy in the program (Caleb if not please correct me)

There is a lot of connections before Austin (Pope) but it just one more connection. I am family friends with Fulmer. My Dad is friends with some of the staff... So I am too. I am a coach as well... A lot less new then I was lol.

"Farragut TE Jacob Warren was present at practice today. He's been around the team a lot lately."

Is he a definite take? I know he's a legacy, but he seems very similar to the other TE's they've taken recently and they've all seemed to struggle to step up as the heir to Ethan Wolf. They really need to find a big-time TE in this class.

I agree with you. We do need to try & get a big time TE for 2018 class. Ruckert & Warren are certainly a couple of the top 2 but there are others as well like Muhammad, Taylor, Jordan, Mitchell, Whyle(committed to Cincy), & Takacs.

Those are the big name & big time TE's currently & we have offered all of them including Warren & Ruckert. After those you're talking about all 3* TE's or below. Thanks.

Does anybody know if Jacob Warren has lived in Tennessee all his life? I ask because he says that he grew up an Oregon fan. That's an awful long way from Eugene. That just shocks me if he did grow up in Tennessee & is a Duck fan.

I don't know of anybody personally that has lived in Tennessee all their life & is a Duck fan. I know some that are Gator or Crimson Tide fans along with a few Notre Dame & Virginia Tech fans but not Oregon. Man, I hope he doesn't go all way across the country to Eugene to play football. Thanks.

Most kids his age are front runners. That's no shot at him. It's just the way it is. Oregon was a top program when he first started paying close attention, but their two minutes of glory is up. I doubt he'll be an Oregon fan come signing day.

"I've always grown up a Vol fan," Warren said. "I have done some research and my dad played there. I really like how they are balanced like we are at Farragut. They use Ethan Wolf and they love to throw to the tight end. It's good to see they use tight ends."

Something doesn't add up for young Mr. Warren. And isn't he a legacy kid?

Tennessee tight end Jacob Warren excited to visit Oregon this weekend

Rivals Reaction: Warren isn’t shy about his love for the Ducks and the fact that both he and his mother set up the visit to quickly should be seen as a sign that’s he’s serious about giving the school a long look. It’s going to be tough for Oregon to pull him out of the heart of SEC country, but the school has signed at least one prospect out of Tennessee in each of the last three classes.

That's contradicting what other reports are saying. Oregon had always been his favorite college team/school growing up. Where did you get your quotes from Warren chris?

There's definitely something fishy going on because he's already been at a couple of UT practices. I don't think he's as big of an Oregon fan as it seems. Thanks.

Probably just hedging. Many of them do it.

I mean, it's possible to be a big fan of both teams.

I grew up a die hard UT fan but when it came time to transfer from University of Alaska Anchorage I wanted to get a degree in Advertising. UT didn't have it but Oregon had probably the most heralded program so I went there. Didn't change my fandom I still root for UT when they clash with the ducks. Just saying a lot goes into the school you choose other than your childhood leanings.

"It was good," Warren said. "I could just see it all with what the coaches were saying. It's a program that you could easily buy into. It would be a comfortable program. I've seen everything around here. I like it."

"It is big and you could say it's quote/unquote a dream of mine," Warren said. "I've been around the program a lot. My dad played here and I've been to games. It's just cool to get that offer from the hometown school and have the opportunity to potentially represent my hometown."

"As a tight end, and as a high school tight end who has the chance to go to a school, it's promising," Warren said. "Just seeing that your tight ends coach is the OC. He's going to not throw you the ball. He has talked about how I can fit in well there and make some plays. "I spent a lot of time with coach Scott. We had a couple of meals together and walked around and talked about a lot."

Coming off a state championship, Warren will have plenty of eyes on him this Fall. He's well aware of the target and is constantly working to get better. "There is always room for improvement in everything," Warren said. "Just training hard and working to get bigger. Keep getting bigger, faster and stronger. I think my team will rely on me more to make those plays. That's when I'll make those plays and have the chance to shine."

Post #27 from this thread. I haven't seen where he said he was an Oregon fan growing up, except Tony's post. I could believe it since they had a good run for several years and we have struggled. However, his own words from the quoted post state that UT is a dream offer. So we'll see.

Free trip to a cool place on the west coast with great facilities and mom coming to make sure he isn't taking pics in a dorm room with women, dongs and bongs everywhere like the eventual bulldog recruit who shall remain nameless.

Thanks chris. I could see him pulling for Oregon maybe as a child/teenager If he had a family/friend member going there but otherwise living in Tennessee all his life is pretty interesting.

He must like both teams. Maybe it's the Oregon colors that got him hooked on them or he likes Duck hunting one. :eek:lol:

It's the uniforms, Marcus Mariota, the Nike affiliation, etc. Oregon has become a fad like Miami has been at different times in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s.
