Your statement was "to accurately depict how it was." What does feelings have to do with that?

With regards to the depiction of buildings in Rome, how do you know it would throw me the hell off? You have no idea how much I know about ancient Roman architecture, the sources and colors of marble they used, etc. I really do not think anyone would be surprised to see the Romans were not black and white in their color schemes.

However, I am also put off with the language in movie scripts today. I grew up on a fairly large farm working side-by-side with the hired help and cursing was pretty much reserved for special occasions (busted fingers, piece of equipment breaking down badly, etc) and the few people I knew that talked like a modern day movie character were not respected much at all. They were really kind of a novelty.

You know, watch a movie like The Wild Bunch, one of my absolutely favorite Westerns. Sure, there is cursing, but nothing like what modern society has become. It was off-putting in Yellowstone, but season four was so bad, that given the discussion of the dialogue, I'll not bother with 1883.
There's cussing, but I don't notice it in 1883 like I do in Yellowstone. I'm still watching both but it pisses me off there's so much.

I must be immune to it because I haven't noticed much cussing in 1883.

After Yellowstone, I find 1883 to be boring and repetitive. Outside of McGraw and Garrett, I really dislike the rest of the cast. I exclude elliott because he's just too damned old for that role. A real letdown so far. Need less whining and emotional tripe and more action....JMO.

Perception is reality. They're making art not a textbook and they care how you feel about it, obviously. It's not the specific swear words that matter, it's how people felt about them at the time.

Thoroughly enjoying the show. It’s not the most action packed, on the edge of your seat type of show but it has its moments. But I stay engaged… it’s kinda like a slow burn. Episode 5 was great.

My only complaint… For the love of God please stop with the woman stretching and showing their arm pit hair lol

Just watched, told the old lady that the Charlie character must have been based on Charles Goodnight. Turns out it was him, not just based on.

Guy had an amazing life if you get bored and feel like reading a bit
