There was a book written in the 80’s by a guy who claimed he was a former military intelligence officer. He made the claim that the CIA wanted disarm Americans, and how they would do that is through mass school shootings. So he made this claim way before anything like Columbine took place. I don’t think it’s a conspiracy theory anymore. All these coincidences around these things are so weird. Can't really blame people for believing the "conspiracy theories".
I agree that something has likely changed in the last 50 years, particularly the last 20 or 30. However, it isn't the number of guns relative to population size or ease of access. If anything, guns are more difficult to get today than 50 years ago. There is some other variable that has changed in the relatively recent past that has made mass shootings occur with more regularity.Nothing happens in a vacuum. The problem of spree shootings can't be analyzed by just isolating one factor by itself. This is a toxic brew of many factors working in conjunction with each other over the course of the last 230 years. Prevalence and ease of access are a small part of it, but it would do no good to isolate those variables for restriction, while holding everything else constant.
Outside of fortifying schools as much as possible, I'm not sure what can be done at this point. Gun violence is too ingrained in American culture.
Should be able to buy whatever you can afford and have your eyes on! Why mini nuke if you’ve got the coin the shell out for a hydrogen bomb!
This was a slow moving car wreck. No more mental health facility incarceration, life like video games with first person killer scenes, little to no father interaction anymore, people like EL's nasty comment yesterday about the husband of one of the teachers that was killed and died of a heart attack. The country is sick.I agree that something has likely changed in the last 50 years, particularly the last 20 or 30. However, it isn't the number of guns relative to population size or ease of access. Minus the video games, I agree with you. I think it is easier than ever before for people to get into dark places where they feel isolated and have nowhere to turn. There have always been people like that on the fringes of society, but I think greater numbers of them cluster now on the end of the bell curve. This was a slow moving car wreck.
