19 students, 3 adults dead in Texas elementary shooting.

So you admit that you don’t always have great judgement and when you try to label someone else as an irresponsible voter it should be taken with a grain of salt. Ok, glad we cleared that up haha

Are you stupid or something?

I treat my vote with a hell of a lot more rebalance than I do a few hundred dollars.

The philosophical wunderkind, known to the world as Donald Trump Jr., angrily insists in a semi-coherent video posted to Facebook, that the carnage wreaked upon Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas by Salvador Ramos, could have just as easily been achieved by way of a Louisville Slugger.

Don Trump Jr. Suggests Uvalde Shooter Could Have Killed 19 Kids With A 'Bat'
Look, I think Don Jr. is a moron, but given the delayed response time of the police, I'm not entirely sure he's wrong here.

You would argue over anything.

It is highly unlikely that the police officers who first arrived on the scene, would have felt it was necessary to wait for tactical gear to arrive, without the presence of an active shooter involved.

Instruments such as knives and "bats" represent a much different threat. Don Jr. is a moron, with this being yet another example of why.

Only their stated reason for waiting to go in was the belief it was a hostage situation. If they're truthful about that, then they still would have attempted to negotiate, giving the madman time to inflict grievous bodily harm and very possibly death. Not to mention, people tend to ignore the fact that loud gunshots serve as a warning something is going on and bring a response whereas more stealthy weapons allow a perpetrator to carry out crimes more quietly and are often not discovered until later.

Again, I agree Don Jr. is a moron, but if you take a step back from your narrative of "guns bad" and apply logic, he's not entirely off base here .
Just as much damage can be done with another weapon. Knives and bats can easily be just as dangerous as a gun.

There was nothing to indicate there was a hostage situation. They’re covering their tracks because they were too scared to engage.

That is ridiculous... and you are just as much off base as he is.

Don't police officers carry guns? Knives and baseball bats do not pose as much of a threat to the police, or to anyone else who is carrying a gun ... as another gun does. That is just common sense. If someone runs at a cop with a knife, they will be dead long before inflicting any harm to that officer. You try too hard to be a contrarian. Your argument has no merit.

.... and this was never a hostage situation. Salvador Ramos began shooting immediately upon breaching a classroom.

Knives can absolutely be just as big of a threat depending on the situation.

I'm sorry, but someone armed with a gun 21 feet away from a police officer is still more likely to kill that officer, than someone 21 feet away with a knife is.

As long as the police officer identifies the threat right away, that officer can take evasive action to increase his distance from the knife-wielding assailant, which can give the officer more time to deploy his own gun. Whereas close quarters wouldn't be needed for the assailant who is armed with a gun.

I agree it was never a hostage situation, but that is the excuse the cops used.

Knives and baseball bats DO still pose a threat to the victims. This is common sense.

The attacker was still behind a locked door that the police apparently couldn't penetrate until someone finally got a key.

It's not contrarian to point out logic, and there's plenty of merit to the argument.

The fact remains the attacker used a gun, so we honestly have no idea how it would have played out had he used another weapon, but yes, it could have been just as deadly. Guns are not the only weapons that can take lives.

A baseball bat would not have killed 21 people. Sorry.

Honestly, he probably could have used his vehicle to roll up on children outside and killed just as many or more. He planned to kill, and he would have found a way.
