19 students, 3 adults dead in Texas elementary shooting.

They still wouldn't have known how much danger the children were in. They were kids. They would have (if they acted competently) still used caution in an attempt to protect the children. Your fantasy that they would have stormed in, guns a blazing, is inaccurate.

yep. We’ve already seen how ridiculously long it to get the key to the door.

No, it's not a fantasy. They would have entered the school, if their intel was that Ramos was only armed with a baseball bat.

Obviously, that is not as long as the hour and a half that Ramos had with an AR 15.
How long do you imagine it takes to bash a kid's skull in? How quickly do you really think the police would have responded and gained access through a locked door that apparently stumped them to begin with?

It doesn’t need to be. Are you under the impression he killed all these kids right before the cops entered?

Could a grown man execute 20 kids in 3 minutes in a locked room with a bat or knife? Yes or no?

It's absolutely a fantasy. Truthfully, neither of us knows exactly how the police would have responded were it "only a baseball bat", but how they did react in no way supports your assertions they would have been quicker to respond.

Very unlikely, because it would have to be one at a time.... and the kids aren't just going to stand completely still and let it happen. I can't believe I'm in an argument over which is easier to kill people with ... an AR 15 or a bat? You people will argue anything when it comes to the subject of guns.

Like I said, let me know the next time a "mass bat swinger" kills a classroom full of kids. It would be the first such event.

lmao It's not which is easier to kill with. Sure, a gun is easier to kill with. That doesn't mean you can't kill just as many with a bat or a knife.

If you have any sense about you, then you know that the police do not let that drag on for over an hour, if they have information that the assailant is only armed with a bat.

How many of these mass shooters have been NRA or GOA (Gun Owners of America) members?

It certainly does, if you are talking about a singular event, with police involvement. There is no way they are deterred from entering the building if they are just up against a baseball bat.

If you have any sense about you, police want as much information as possible before storming into a potential hostage situation. If anything, a baseball bat would probably make them feel safer about having time to collect information.

Why does this matter? I don't know and I don't care.
Exactly. You don't care. You're convinced "assault rifles" are the bad guy, not the actual bad guy. That's why attempting to conversate with you is a failure, because you already have your mind made up and you're perfectly willing to ignore reality to keep your mind closed and stay on narrative.

Are you like 5’4” and 110 pounds?

Of course, this is not the same situation, but in 2016, 19 people were killed in a nursing home using a knife.

Sagamihara stabbings - Wikipedia
Mass murderers in gunless Japan use everything from arson to knives to poisons and noxious gas and end up killing dozens. China has seen a rash of stabbings and HAMMER attacks over the last decade, some of those events leading to dozens of deaths.

There are veterans working in education, law enforcement, security, etc. For you to slap a label on a group of people was wrong on your part. You need to do better next time.

You don't get it. I didn't label any group. I am facing the reality that vets potentially suffer from PTSD and that restricting school security (and discriminating against everybody else) to vets is a small enough sampling of the population that you're asking for problems. In no way am I saying "don't hire vets." Don't worry about me "doing better". Worry about your reading comprehension.

Was watching Chuck Todd this morning because I’m a masochist. He’s whining about gun manufacturers using the shooting as advertising. His program is sponsored by Boeing and Raytheon because I’m sure there is a large viewing section that’s in the market for a Boeing 737 biz jet. These people don’t care about the death of children and actively profit from it. They will gladly sacrifice your children for their gain.

They don't even have to advertise because the MSM does it for them.

If it's a load of brown folks getting waxed by indiscriminate droning (a la Obama) mass murder doesn't matter.

There was nothing to indicate that this was any type of hostage situation... and when the hell has anyone taken hostages with a ball bat?

Look, I'm tired of this discussion. It seems really stupid to me, that you would argue such a thing. There is a reason that guns are the primary weapon of choice in crimes similar to what happened in Uvalde, Texas.... instead of baseball bats. They are more effective when it comes to killing large amounts of people in a brief period of time. You let me know the next time we have a bat swinging massacre in a school.

You guys get very defensive when it comes to guns ... and you will argue ridiculous things.
