19 students, 3 adults dead in Texas elementary shooting.

But they can vote and be drafted?

Nobody should be voting at 18 and probably not at 21. Something like 25 would be a better voting age; if you go by age rather than saying people have to be out on their own and gainfully employed. I was in the Army before I could vote, and I never bought into the too young to vote but not too young to fight BS - and still don't.

Seriously? Why does a civilian need body armor. Go ahead ill wait.
It's good to have. I buy it for investment purposes just like AKs and ARs. I highly doubt my grandchildren will be able to purchase any of this one day. So, Ill pass it down to them for safe keeping or they can choose to sell and make a little $. The more this world changes and the government is involved the worse things will get. When the idiots ban all of this stuff it will be worth a lot of money.

We have criminal laws. This POS ignored a number a number of them.
He certainly did. Starting with 1st degree murder, which is still a crime in Texas. It should be pointed out that last year's "Constitutional Carry" bill signed into law by Gov. Greg Abbot, doesn't cover this idiot, who was under 21 and carrying a rifle.

However, it is also fair to point out that Texas now leads the nation in spree shooting deaths over the last 5 years ....

Do you remember :
  • 26 people were murdered in the Sutherland Springs Church shooting in November of 2017?
  • 10 people were murdered at Sante Fe High School in May of 2018?
  • 20 people were murdered at a Walmart store in El Paso in August of 2019?

This latest shooting, involving 21 more deaths, makes for a combined total of 77 people that have been murdered in the state of Texas across 4 separate incidents, in less than 5 years worth of elapsed time.

.... and thanks to Gov. Greg Abbott, Texas also has the laxest gun laws in the country.

You Can Now Carry A Handgun In Texas Without A License, Training Or Background Check

Everyone here will rush to Gov. Abbott's defense, and insist that he is in no way responsible for these shootings ... Okay, but what has he done to help prevent these incidents from occurring? If he has taken any action at all, it clearly hasn't helped.

Before women's lib, I don't remember both parents working that much, and most families did OK. I also remember neighborhoods as places where neighbors knew neighbors and the kids - you couldn't get away with much. I also remember we rode bikes, so our sphere of terror was limited - meaning someone who knew you probably had eyes on you much of the time. Seems like we've changed but haven't improved in many ways over the years.

When a starter home in Orlando or Nashville costs around $350K, chances are both parents need to work, sometimes more than one job.

Let’s hear what Governor Bowl Brother would have done to keep this mentality ill person from illegally using a gun to commit mass murder. Everyone of those crimes was committed with an illegal firearm except for the white supremacist at Walmart. Also who stopped the church shooter? Oh yeah, an armed church member with a legal gun. Also what has our President done to prevent our military from murdering innocent children in drone strikes? That got swept under the rug awfully quickly.

No politician at any level of government has done anything that has helped because they are all arguing over the wrong thing. It's not the guns, it's the people wielding the guns. Until we start addressing the mental health crisis that clearly exists in this country, we'll continue to see tragedies like this unfold. But politicians on both sides would rather argue guns because it's an easier selling point to their followers.

25 states have constitutional carry laws. I guess the other 24 are doomed too then. Oh well

Oh she died? Hadn’t heard that yet.
I thought she was in critical condition today (around noon CT).

edit this was ab around 1321 CT

Gunman's grandmother "is in critical condition but she's still alive," Texas official says
The gunman shot his 66-year-old grandmother before heading to Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, in her car, according to Steven McCraw, director of the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The grandmother "reported him to the police department, when she was able to run across the street to a neighbor and get help," McCraw said at a news conference Wednesday. "She was medevaced to San Antonio in critical condition at this point but she's still alive."
The shooter used his grandmother's vehicle "to drive approximately 0.29 miles, which is a block and a half away from Robb Elementary School," McCraw continued.
"He crashed the vehicle at that point in time. He exited with a backpack, took a rifle with him" and went to the west side of the campus, which is a backdoor, he added.

and no voting, komrade harris said 18 year olds are stupid.
If she actually said that, it's the only thing she has been right about in her life. TBH, I think the current crop of kids is maturing way later than previous generations. They don't seem to want to leave home until they're in their mid 20's or later, and they act like insolent little children.
