This gave him extra time to do what he really wanted to do the most - sexually abuse the young girls who were in the school, before shooting those girls in the face.

The sickos will find a way to perform their evil. That's just how it is.

My solution is one of two or both.
- Hire ex military personnel to replace SROs. And/or let the teachers and staff decide for themselves if they would like to carry. Their lives should not be up to the government to gamble with.

I’m not digging for primary sources on old news. We’ve all seen all the evidence we need. We’ve seen the mountain of money, guns and combat vehicles given to the Taliban. We’ve seen the images of the border. You can barely see the ground because there’s so many people crossing. And we’ve all heard Biden multiple times stressing a ban on AR 15s AND high capacity magazines.

You're going off of emotion, feels, and messaging from hard right news sources. A cursory look through available sources present a view that isn't found elsewhere, or is explained through other more moderated means.

Video doesn’t lie. When you can see the weapons in the Talibans hands, them standing over it all in photos, it’s undeniable no matter where the source comes from. When he’s on National TV addressing the nation on AR15s and high capacity magazines, it’s only him talking. And when you can clearly see the boarders and the slew of people crossing, it’s no longer opinion or emotion. It’s a fact

Conversations on banning AR15s and high capacity mags is performative, and he knows it. It's the Dem version of "thoughts and prayers."

That isn’t the only problem.

As I stated there was a class at recess when the shooter arrived. They went in their class and locked the door. Did the teacher not lock the door to the school? Alert other teachers to lock their doors? Alert admin for everyone to go on lockdown?

If it's like most schools, teachers don't have keys to the building; only their classrooms. You have to be an administrator or coach to get a main door key.

Your questions are all right on the money and need to be asked. I hope we get more information and a timeline from inside the building to answer those questions.

Wow. An unarmed mother accomplished what police officers on the scene were afraid to even attempt .... She entered the building and pulled children away to a safe and secure location. The Sheriff of Uvalde County, Ruben Nolasco, should be ashamed. This article could not look any worse for his department.

Why were Federal Marshalls on the scene and doing nothing? I thought this was a case of an ill-equipped , untrained , small town police force not knowing what to do.

It was known that he was barricaded in a room full of students. There were officers in the building. Keys were easily accessable.
A locked door cannot be used as a defense for their failure to respond.
Finding a key would have been simple. Another pro tip on the key issue: stay out of things you know nothing about.

Were they indeed told to stand down, and who gave the order?

Emotions are running high right now and I’m sure some things being reported aren’t accurate, but there sure do seem to be a lot of witnesses reporting the police were just standing around outside at this point.

I would think a primary entry/exit door locks from the inside without a key. Idk. I thinking it is an exit door like you see in movie theaters, hospitals, etc. with the long horizontal bar. I would think it has a mechanical sequence available for locking it.

But you could for sure alert your other classrooms. This classroom was close to the one the shooter entered. How do you lock your classroom down coming in from recess but don’t alert the others?

The more I hear about the delayed response, the more disgusted I get. I honestly do not understand it. FFS, give the shooter someone to target other than the kids. I mean, the police are armed and can shoot back, those kids were just sitting ducks.
