Be careful dad. Got some idiots on here that I doubt are real VOL fans or they have had too much shine.

This. We would love to have you but when fools start talking it can be hard for a parent to deal with. Good luck to your son and his recruitment. I hope it goes well.

This kid hasn't yet played a down of highschool football for Indy and his measurable don't exactly jump off the page. Guess he's already done a considerable amount of camping? I know he's still awfully young, but I think I'll wait to see if he can actually play before post "WANT!!!"

You sir are correct, he will not start as a soph either. Their is a senior ahead of him who has been in the system for 3 years. But that is all good, he will back up the varsity and start the JV. If the QB gets injured or does not perform he steps in. Coach has already told him it is his team for at least 2 years. With their offense I expect him to throw for 300 to 400 a game for both Jr and Sr year. Since his dad is 6'5" and 250, he will prob be 6'4" or 6'5" and 220 or so. When he was invited last Saturday he and Scurry went together and Nathan told me he did not deserve this yet because, as you said, he had not thrown a single varsity pass in a game. He has a 3.8 GPA taking Honors and AP classes. He is a high character high Football IQ kid. You probably will want him after a couple of years. It sdoes not matter, if he is good enough he will get SEC offers, if not he can always go to Princeton who has already shown interest.

Is he a UT fan?

Both his grandmother and grandfather graduated from UT. His mom from Alabama. Me the U. After his visit last Saturday he is def a UT fan. But we are literally 3 years from his signing day. We'll see. He has pretty lofty goals but is very grounded and realistic.

Welcome to the board, Mr. Cisco. I apologize in advance for any stupidity thrown your way in the future from posters on this board. Glad to have you. We welcome any and all info in regards to your sons recruitment. Hope he balls out in HS the next few years. :hi:

Also, Princeton showing interest already is insane. Must make you one proud papa.

Nice to know there's some real orange in his blood and that he enjoyed his visit. 😉

Welcome to the board!

He is my son, what do you want to know?

Welcome to the forums Mr. Cisco. What I had asked you couldn't have answered anyhow about his star status ranking at this time.

He hasn't even thrown a pass for varsity like you said so we might not get a star ranking for your son until the 2018 season. Thanks for the information you've given about your son.

Keep him humble and working hard. It doesn't sound like that will be much of a problem though. Very excited to see this unfold!

To be honest, since pro-ball is so unlikely for any kid, Princeton might be his best option. Then if he is good enough they will still find him, if not well degree from freaking Princeton!!! I was on here last December and put in a thread about him hoping to spark interest, got some pretty mean responses. But hey, I am 6'5" 250 and can still kick ass, I can handle it, lol.

I do appreciate the niceness though.

Yeah, but what i saw was 4 QB's in their initial top 100. They all started as freshman for small schools which allows padded stats. If you watch the video of those kids and then watch Nathans you will see he has better velocity and touch on the long ball than they do. Today the OC told me he would be starting at any other HS in the area and most in the state. But he is at Independence and he would be crazy to go anywhere else. I agree, I have been approached by several area private schools but not going to happen.

Do you mind if we send some certain select Volnation posters to you so you can "handle it" as you say? That would really help clean up this board.

Yeah that whole degree from Princeton thing is huge. Have they talked to you all about requirements to play football there? Being an ivy league school I have always wondered what the work load and GPA recommendations are.

He has a private QB coach and a speed and agility coach. He will be the QB for the same 7 on 7 team that UT first noticed Kendrell Scurry playing for. Scurry will be a receiver of his for for Jr and Sr year. Nate Johnson's Half brother (Michigan signee) Will also be one of his WR's. Should be very interesting in 2017 and 2018.

Tell your son to make Scurry look good too while he's wearing it out as well. Maybe we'll see your son in a VOL uni come 2019.

Wish your son nothing but the best of luck and good health when he gets his chance to prove himself and show what he can do. He's obviously playing in a great program there at Indy. Certsinly didn't mean to disparage him with my initial post, just urging caution to some posters on here who, IMO, want to jump the gun straight out of the gate without knowing what a recruit can do/produce on the field. Sounds like he has talent, potential and some growing still left to do. I know you've gotta be a proud papa. And it's obviously a good sign that the staff already offered him.

Again, good luck and good health to Nathan and who knows, perhaps we're all cheering for him in Neyland 4-5 years down the road.

If he can get any taller he might be better. Is starting as a soph, just like Scurry. He is about 5'9" right now, but is a sub 4.5 guy who is just a flat out football player. He should be at least 5'11" like Nate and is a little faster and a little more humble. I I think he is a power 5 D1 prospect. Don't have any incite where he is interested in going.

Also how firm commitment wise do you think scurry is

He and my son hang out quite a bit and at first I thought it was a way to get other teams to look at him.

But talking to him and my son about it, I now think Kendrell is as close to a lock as is possible for a 10th grader. I also know my son (who is a huge Alabama fan) liked the visit Saturday so much he now likes UT as much, especially facilities etc.

So he is the Cisco kid?

That or Nate the Great, lol. That is something he got called back in LL baseball because he was so dominant. He hates that nick name and would kill me if he knew I put it out there. But what are dads for if not to embarrass their kids on occasion!
