1st.........Golden Tate
2nd........Harrison Smith
Next.......Chris Donald!

I know what your gonna say....Golden & Harrison are over rated. They wouldn't help the Vols....maybe on special teams.

I hear everytime when the Irish pluck talented players from another state.

Maybe Phil can keep Chris Dnald in state...but don't count on it.

Nice accurate post.

I'll be ROFL when everyone finds out just how overrated Jimmy Clausen is. Chris will stay in-state and go to school on The Hill. I wish this irishpacker would go back to Indiana.

I am not from Indiana, second you could be right about Jimmy Clausen but I am not worried about that.

Just remember this name, Demetrious Jones.

Charlie will always be able to recruit QBs who can win the big game. (I will let you figure out what that means)

And just what QB has old Charlie recruited so far that has won any big game?

If Charlie Weis did that he needs to go to jail. That is illegal. That's is no way to recruit kids.

Funny you make fun of "Phil." I'd say Weis has got, what...75 pounds on Fulmer?

As far as Smith, I would have loved to have him as a commit, but he seems a little slow for a UT safety..I figured we'd work him in somewhere, though.

As far as Tate: I'm not overly concerned we lost him. I think UT offered b/c he was in-state. I mean, the kid had to work just to get an offer from ND. Not a huge loss to miss out on him...

Donald, on the other hand, is a UT caliber player. Speed, size...the kind of person we want. Losing him would be a big hit down the road.

wood and irish, what are you're guys thoughts on getting taken behind the woodshed by LSU? I'm guessing that after getting embarrassed by Mich and USC (the only good teams you're soft team faced this year), it'll be a familiar feeling, yes?

Ohhh. I get it. You're a Pats fan because Weiss came from there.

Ohhh. So you knew after being with the Pats he would coach at ND.

Got the upcoming lotto numbers. You know what they say. If you don't support the troops. You're a bastard.

Smith would have been nice. Not really overrated though may be a tweener(perfect for the ND system).

Tate is no big loss. We wanted him for DB and/or WR and I personally feel that we filled those needs with higher caliber players than Golden. We never pursued him hard.

Donald would be a huge loss, but isn't going to be a loss. I'd take the commitment of Donald anyday over the commitment of the other 2 combined. There is a reason that Donald would likely start next year for ND while the other two, at best, will be sophomore starters.

What is with all the ND trolls all of a sudden? Don't you guys have a Notre Dame board you can go to?

Or maybe you can go talk trash with fans of the team that you are actually playing in your bowl game. Or are you too afraid of talking trash about a team you know is about to hand you a major league butt kicking?

This is the VolNation, not the IrishNation.

Maybe it is the same as their conference situation. They don't play in a conference because it is more beneficial to them. Maybe it is more beneficial to their fans to troll other boards instead of posting on their own.

What you guys don't realize is that according to the Universal Message Board bylaws, since Notre Dame is not in a conference, its fans are allowed to combine post counts from all message boards towards attaining Guru status everywhere.

Dec 25, 2006 USC 44, Notre Dame 24

It's still a bit sad that Charlie's biggest win is a loss to USC.

I'm with ya'll. I really don't see where Weiss has coached his team to any big wins. Yeah, he was great with NE and Brady, but he also had the benefit of coaching with the best HC in the NFL. Since being at ND, he has been slaughtered in every big game, with the one exception being last year's USC game. But USC had quite a few games last year where they had to come from behind in the 2nd half.

I predict Weiss will be back in the NFL within the next 2-3 years. He did sign a big extension/raise, but it does have a buyout. It isn't easy to recruit when the potential of jumping is evident. It is still there, just not as clear as it was before.

In all honesty, I think Weiss is a fine coach, and I think he'll get better as he goes, but I just get a little tired of people already labeling him one of the best coaches in the nation. It was bad enough during the season, but now we have ND trolls. Goodness. :mf_surrender:

I'm not saying he isn't a good coach, that is why he will be in the NFL. I'm just saying he is overrated right now because he hasn't coached ND to any big wins. They'd better beat LSU, because next year could be tough sledding with all the players they lose.

No way, man. They're set for the next 4 years. You just know Little Clausen is going to bring them 4 championships. :p
