2008 Football Commitment List

I wonder if Fulmer is telling his players... you know, that'd be great if we could hold off on all these arrests until recruiting season is over...

Wondering if a recruit commits early and is'nt pursued by other schools if it affects their star rating. Like the Bartholomew thing. He was never going to any other school but Tennessee and he committed early, would he have had a higher ranking.. If so this star thing means very little

Recruits will suddenly get stars if they sign with a school.

Take Hughes for instance, he had no stars. He committed to Tennessee, he has 2 stars the next day.

I suddenly get the feeling that Scout and Rivals have created a pay site for suckers like me.

I absolutely hate looking at those lists and seeing us 60th in the rankings. It scares me. I understand that we have skilled positions filled, but it seems like we are not even going after these stars. I dont even see Tennessee in the decision group. We're too damn good with such a great tradition to lack this much. There is no excuse for it. We need linemen, and we arent getting them.

isn't Casey Kelly suppose to be a pretty good sign for the baseball team aswell, or will CPF let him play both sports?

I watched Wilks and Douglas in their respective State Championship games. Wilks is a good receiver, and Douglas has great size. Hopefully they can continue to get better

Looks like they picked up DE/DT Montori Hughes..I'd watch out for this kid. He is a force and im excited to see what he can do at the next level in a Vols uniform!!

Check out the recruiting presser@ UTsports.com CPF says (summarized) # 1 priority: football. #2 academics. #3 2nd sport. In other words, it would be extremely difficult for a student athlete to do two sports.

Is these the only players we got?

E.J Abrahams Ward is listed on UTs official website as a WR. Interesting since he was a highly rated LB. That must be why we got him.

Steven Fowlkes is also listed as a WR instead of LB. So now we have Rod Wilks 6'1" 195, Abrahams Ward 6'5" and Steven Folwkes 6'5" 213 all at WR. That will be some physical WRs to tend with even in the SEC. SWEET! Maybe this recruiting class will end up better than we thought.

Neither of those two were LB's. Especially not Fowlkes. It was known that both of those players would get their first look at WR.
