2010-11 Schedule Basketball Schedule

Vandy? :snoring:

???

You do realize that they are our biggest in-state rival and actually beat us at TBA fairly often right? Including during our Elite 8 season last year, so it's not like we should be expecting an easy (boring) win. I'm honestly very confused on why that match-up would be boring to you.

As far as the schedule goes, where is it??? This is starting to get ridiculous. It's nearly September already.

Memphis is our biggest in-state rival.

Yea, since we blew Vandy away both games last year, it would be very boring to have them on a national telecast.

That was last year. Oh yeah, what an exciting matchup with huge implications! I bet Vandy will finish 5th in the east this year, so this game will be big if they want a shot at making the tournament! I would bet that Bruce Pearl's orange jacket has more to do with this game getting picked for gameday.

There is absolutely no reason to believe Vandy will be 5th in the east this year. They will give us all we want and it is a conference rival---much more important to win this game than Memphis.

Would much rather beat Memphis than Vandy simply due to the fact that I live here, but the Vandy series is far more important regarding the season.

Beating Memphis is better for recruiting, however.

Except that Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida and Georgia will be better than them.

Really? I would place an in-state conference opponent over an in-stage out-of-conference opponent when determining which is a bigger rival. The only exception being if the OOC team was located much, much closer than the in-conference one, which is not the case here. But that's just me.

I don't know, it's an SEC rivalry game and should be an interesting game to out-of-state viewers. Obviously, not to the level that Tennessee-Kentucky would have been (or maybe Tennessee-Florida), but still a very good match-up for them to select for this stage.

Georgia and Florida is getting too much credit for teams that really haven't accomplished anything. Florida is great due to the fact that they are returning many players from an average SEC team. Georgia is getting credit for being better last year than anyone expected.

I hate Stallings. That said, he's earned his contract the past couple of years. That said, he's a loser when it comes to the tournament. That's why he'll never go anywhere better.

You know nothing about basketball or are simply a Vandy hater. Stallings does an excellent job at a school that is limited due to the academic standards required in signing top players.

I'm a serious Vandy hater. I've turned my realist switch off for the day.

I think that's exactly right. Stallings is mediocre. If he was so great, he might have at least been considered for the Indiana job that he was lobbying as hard as he possibly could to get.

Not getting the Indiana job does not make him a mediocre coach. He has kept Vandy significant in the SEC. That alone is an accomplishment.

Not even being considered does. Being competitive in the SEC does not rise you above mediocrity. It's not the NBA West. Lots and lots of coaches could be "competitive" at Vandy and never win anything of significance just like Stallings has done.

Sounds like its a two team tourney with us and NOVA.

Don't know much about Missouri State. They seem to think they will be a tough out for us.

Jay Wright and Nova are my second favorite team. It would be fun to see UT go against them. Plus Tobias and Pinkston would play against each other as well.
