2013-14 Schedule

Wait. Are we really playing Tennessee Tech???? I currently go there, I can't wait to see these two clash! I know you said it wasn't confirmed, but there has to be a reason it's being speculated.

You my friend are the only person happy that we are playing TN Tech

The conference part is being speculated, the non conference is already done, I'm pretty sure TTU was verified awhile back.

Here's an easier way to look at our schedule (until the real one comes out).

Home Schedule 2013-14

USC-Upstate (Nov. 16)
The Citadel (Battle 4 Atlantis prelim)
Morehead State
NC State
Tennessee State
Tennessee Tech
Tusculum College
Virginia
Georgia (Feb. 18)
Vanderbilt
Alabama
Auburn
Arkansas
South Carolina
Texas A&M
Florida
LSU or Mississippi State

Here is the road schedule

Xavier (Nov. 12; ESPN Tip-Off Marathon; tentative 4 PM ET start time)
Battle 4 Atlantis (Nov. 28-30; UTEP game 1)
Wichita State (Intrust Bank Arena)
Kentucky
Vanderbilt
Florida
LSU
Mississippi State
Missouri
Ole Miss
Auburn or Arkansas
South Carolina or Texas A&M

Guess this guy had his info wrong

I saw someone on another board listing our conference schedule as well. Not sure how they figured it out, but I can't remember who they had listed either.

As for the teams you listed, that would be a great draw. We should sweep Vandy, A&M, State and probably Missouri although at their place may not be easy. If we could draw Kentucky at home as well instead of at Rupp that would make for a very favorable schedule.

That would be:

Vandy x2
Mississippi State x 2
Missouri x 2
Texas A&M x 2
Florida x2
Kentucky
Georgia
LSU
Ole Miss
Auburn
South Carolina
Alabama
Arkansas

I see 13-5 comference record being very plausible, and I've said 10-3 OOC, so that would be 23-8 regular season...I would definitely be happy with that. We would be ranked top 20 heading into the SECT and playing from somewhere between a 4-6 seed, that would be great.

Looks like your guy missed also. All you can do is guess until it's official.

With 2 years in this new SEC conf. rotation, it should be easy to predict the home / away schedule next year.

I hate playing Xavier as the first game of the season. I know ESPN is good, but I would much rather have it during late December. It would be a much better barometer of where both teams are.

1. I agree about not liking them as our first game.

2. It's no longer going to be on ESPN apparently.

3. I've said for the last couple months I almost feel like that game is a must win for us to be a great season.

I won't say it's a "must-win", but having a top heavy schedule isn't ideal for this team. They'll have no way of judging improvement while drubbing cupcake teams later on during the OOC schedule.

I thought the OOC slate was actually very balanced...

11/16: vs. USC Upstate
11/18: vs. Citadel
11/22: vs. Tennessee State
11/28: vs. UTEP (B4A Rd 1)

12/23: vs. Morehead State
12/30: vs. Virginia
1/4: vs. Tusculum

Obviously you start with Xavier, then 3 cupcakes. Next you have a great field in the B4A, then come home for a cupcake. And then travel on the road against a top 20 team for a very tough game. Return home for a game you should be favored in, but NCST was a NCAA team last year and has talent. Then you get a cupcake in Morehead, followed by a likely NCAAT team in UVA, capped off by a cupcake D2 team. I thought the OOC schedule was balanced great.

I would only consider Wichita to be a game that Tennessee may be underdogs in after the Thanksgiving Tournament. Before the Wichita State game, they could be underdogs in three of those games, depending on the opponent. Virginia should be a challenge, but State won't be good.

I don't think Wichita will be in the top 25 this year.. This is more or less a rebuilding year for them. I don't think it will be an easy game to win, but I think we'll win it.

I think you're mistaken. They lost a couple starters, but still have Cleanthony Early and several other key contributors. Early is really good and could give Maymon and Stokes fits, though we did shut him down last year. I'm not sure if he scored a single point on us, and I'm pretty sure he fouled out rather quickly. He wasn't much of a factor, I know that.
