2013 TN PG Darius Thompson

I really hope we get Thompson. In my opinion, this kid will be like a coach on the floor for us for the next 4 years. Kid is basketball smart, hard worker, and lives and breathes basketball. His dad is also the coach at Cumberland and I would expect Darius to coach at some point in the future.

In fairness to CCM though, I think he has done a great job considering what he got dealt. He's brought in two 5*'s already and this is is only his second season; 3rd class.

His first year he brought in Richardson, Washpun, Chievous, Miller, and Yemi, but he was scrambling to fill up our class after Pearl got the boot and everyone defected. Since then, he's had one 5* per class. Not bad at all actually. If he can add Thompson, that would be awesome!!

I agree, I think his recruiting has been pretty good so far, and improving every year.

Having Landry will help as well.

It'll be very nice not having to play Mcrae or Richardson at PG next year when Trae rests for a few minutes or is struggling.

Apologies in advance because I'm sure this has been asked.

If we do get Thompson, does that mean we'll have 4 PGs on the roster next season?

Golden, Lopez, Landry, Thompson by my thinking...

My understanding is Thompson would help solidify that backup PG role but I guess who knows for sure. He seems to be a high priority for this staff so I was just trying to get an idea of depth should he commit.

Yeah, all 4 will mainly be playing PG.

Rob Lewis basically insinuated on Friday that this was close to being over, and he even discussed how conservative they (VQ) are with making predictions.

Thompson told lewis after his visit he wasnt committed but that Tennessee is definitely on top and he may not take any other visits. My guess is he will committ after his senior season is over, next week or so.
