2013 TN PG Darius Thompson

I almost think McRae should go pro, the NBA draft is all about potential, his stock is high right now. I'm not saying he is ready or I want him to leave.

I have not seen any draft projections, but I am afraid McCray may go pro. He is better than any of Kentucky's freshmen and it appears that several of those guys are entering the draft.

I'd take Noel, Stein, and Goodwin over McCrae any day. Even now. And especially if you compare all their freshmen seasons.

As for NBA projections...haven't seen McRae on any lists. The assumption is that he's coming back, which he should imo.

You'd rather have Goodwin than McRae on this years UK team?

I think Goodwin is more talented than McRae. If he was given 3 years in college he'd be better than McRae. Right now, it's close. I'd still take Goodwin.

Then you're a complete homer. McRae made Goodwin look silly both games this year, and Goodwin has lost y'all a few games this year, no such thing from jordy.

Why? What is it that Goodwin does well? His shot is terrible. He's an average, at best, FT shooter. He is a decent rebounder from the guard position.

The only thing he does well is score at the rim, and to me, that is negated by the TOs he generates from being a total knucklehead. He forces the issue way too much, and does a pitiful job of involving his teammates. Defensively, he's not the hardest worker, and oftentimes blames teammates and points the finger when his man scores.

Pardon my skepticism, but I just don't see the love affair with Archie Goodwin.

I'll add this. Cal won't miss him when he's gone. After the Tennessee debacle, Cal made it a point to recognize that there were a couple guys on his team that aren't very coachable. Wanna guess who he's talking about?

McRae was what, ranked top 60 outta high school right? What was Goodwin? I don't think there is really that much difference in talent there.

McRae averages 2.8 TO/game and Goodwin averages 3.1. Pretty close.

Goodwin averages more blocks, assists, steals, and plays less minutes.

I should amend my statement from earlier. Imagine what Goodwin would do in three years at UK.

As you said, McRae plays more than Goodwin, and still averages less TOs a game, so that doesn't really strengthen your position.

Goodwin also plays a lot of PG, so it would stand to reason that he would average more assists than McRae, though the difference in their numbers there is minimal. 1.1/gm to .8/gm.

Check your facts on the blocks. McRae averages almost a block a game (28 on the year), while Goodwin is around .5/gm (15 on the year). As for steals, Tennessee's defensive philosophy isn't predicated on creating TOs. As a team, Tennessee is last in the conference in steals.
