The poster who said that isn't a mod or anything, so take what he said with a grain of salt. Definitely sounds like Duke tried to make a visit this morning, whether they did or not seems to be the question, and whether it was welcomed or not is up for debate.

If everything that was posted is accurate I'm not sure that's what I'd take from it. Duke wanted to visit, family declined, so Duke decided to go to his high school anyways to see him.

Good in that Duke is not backing off and are therefore still in it. Good in that Nate James is a tireless recruiter. Good in that Duke will get a coach in front of Kevon one last time, just hours before he makes his decision. Good in that they'll likely be the last school to do so. Good in that Nate and Kevon (and Kevon's family) have a great relationship and showing how much he's wanted resonates loudly with them (see him cutting Michigan because they didn't spend enough time being in touch with his family).
I guess you could look at it as bad in the sense that they're still recruiting him right up until the decision, but that's just the nature of recruiting.

A friend shared with me some posts from their board the other day. Their mods are absolute Duke SHEEP. Very sheepy.

Could you imagine Rob Lewis trying to put that kind of positive spin on that situation if UT was flying up there against the family's wishes?

It's duke so I'm not surprised lol. Truly I don't know how you can view this last second visit as Looney is a duke lock, and that's with my orange glasses off.

To me it seems that only once we were mentioned of fading other wise we've been a constant name whenever questions are asked. Just seems like we're going to win out. I think Florida May be making a push but I don't see it.

Crazy thing is once Looney commits to them or not to them next week they'll have three commits. Two 5's and a 4 ( if Looney doesn't commit). They're just being greedy.

I think this is one of Duke's tactics for a guy they really want, but don't have a good feel for. Try to be on his mind right before the decision.

It didn't work last time, and hopefully it won't work again!

Yes. It sounds like Duke wanted to visit with them IN-HOME, and the family declined, so as an alternative, they visited the school instead as an evaluation visit, in hopes of getting some face time with him at the last minute.

If I'm his parents, this would rub me the wrong way, and it smacks of desperation on Duke's behalf. This obviously would bode well for us if true, but as tight-lipped as they've been, you have to honestly say it bodes well for all five other contenders.

I said this a few days ago. The staffs at all schools know where they stand already. The refusal of an in home tells duke exactly where they stand.

Clearly a desperation visit IMO

The only part I feel confident about is Nate James went to see Looney....Rob Lewis reported the rumor that they tried but family declined. Bossi seems to kind of have verified that this visit is taking place. The Duke mod for 247 seems to have good info and said he flew up there as well.

So I feel confident that he made the trip to visit with him, from there is where things get cloudy. Regardless of how everyone felt about the visit, I think it can only be viewed as Duke is at the very least a bit worried about where they stand with him.
