After one hell of a signing day cranked out by Butch Jones and company, things are looking up, so on to how 2014 will play out.

8/30 (Utah State)W- Matt Wells Aggies are no slouch, certainly a team on a mission as of late and will bring an interesting match-up to Neyland to kick off UT Football 2014. Tennessee finds their identity and wins by a couple of touchdowns.

9/6 (Arkansas State)W-One of those out of conference crush games, Tennessee rolls big with a lot of newcomers seeing some PT.

9/13 (@Oklahoma)L-As much as we would all love to see a win here, The Sooners are back in that damn good state of mind. Trevor Knight leads an explosive offense and they will be playoff contenders. It will be closer than the experts think, I see a 10 point difference.

9/27 (@UGA)W-A week off and refreshed from the loss, Georgia took a hit this off season with personnel and some coaching changes. Their not necessarily rebuilding but it's going to take a couple of years to get back to very good status for them. Tennessee rocks Athens.

10/4 (Florida)W-Florida had a rough year, didn't make a bowl, got beat by Georgia Southern, and their licking their wounds. They had a hell of a signing day, but it's not enough, Tennessee breaks the streak at home and we might even rush the field.

10/11 (Chattanooga)W-The Vols explode to continue the 3 game winning streak, look for a whole lot of yards in the air and on the ground.

10/18 (@Ole Miss)W-Hugh Freeze has got Ole Miss back in the talk. His phenomenal signing class last year is finally maturing and The Rebels might make a little bit of a run, but Tennessee is out to prove themselves. The Rebels will not be good enough to hang, Butch Jones and staff will have it figured out racking up win number 4 in a row.

10/25 (@Alabama)L-The streak continues, Alabama is just too strong, as much as we would like to see Kiffin get crushed by his former team, Saban's well oiled machine is still running hard.

11/1 (@South Carolina)W-This game is a trap game, more like a resilience game, how strong is team 118? After getting smacked by Alabama, I believe they will handle Spurrier's bunch like champs. Tennessee wins by 10.

11/15 (Kentucky)W-Bob Stoops did a good job by landing Kentucky in the top 20 on signing day considering it is Kentucky. Tennessee smacks the Wildcats into oblivion.

11/22 (Mizzou)W-Revenge, Revenge, Revenge!!! After going to Mizzou last year and getting embarrassed, this will not be the same effort. Mizzou coming off an SEC Championship loss isn't going to be that good again. Gary Pinkel will have them up for a sub par year.

11/29 (@Vanderbilt)W-No more losses to Vanderbilt, a new streak will start. Vanderbilt will be beat down nonetheless. They lost recruits to Penn State, their in a state of emergency and it's going to be a while before they return anywhere near prominence.

FINAL RECORD Overall (10-2) SEC (7-1)

Far Fetched? I don't think so, I believe this a year of emergence, this a year of statement, and Tennessee is back!!!

Can't-miss prospects occasionally miss. Derek Dooley's first two classes at Tennessee in 2010 and 2011 were ranked No. 9 and No. 13, respectively, but that didn't keep the Vols from losing 25 of their last 32 SEC games.

Let's just take it one game at a time...Utah State is not going to be a pushover by any means. I am just looking forward to the maturation of the freshman as the season rolls along.

@Oklahoma, @UGA, UF, @Bama, @ UCSjr, @Ole Miss.

All very tough games on the road. Will be very interesting to see how UT handles it. I hope I'm wrong.

@ Oklahoma I agree.

@ UGA, I still will never understand why everyone on Vol nation seems to fear UGA. They will be a 6 or 7 win ball club at best this year, Hutson Mason is not as good as people are boasting.

UF, the wheels have fallen off there, it's gonna take a little while to get them back on, we break the streak.

@ Bama, I agree.

@ South Carolina, They are not as good as they were, it's gonna take them a little while to rebuild and we steal that one in Columbia.

@ Ole Miss, not a tough game per say. They are a middle of the road kinda team, we are renewed, not fearful of a loss one bit in Oxford.

Ok it is one thing to have to respectable recruiting class but if you don't recruit to your needs and don't have any sense on how to coach it then yes you will lose.

Buying a jet plane does not make you a pilot. Dufus did not recruit to the team's needs plus he did not know how to coach. No plan. I personally think he just threw players on the field and expected the results.

You are off a year - 2015 is the year that we will be back. You have let your dreams work their way into your predictions.

As we sit here - we are probably underdogs against Florida and Missouri at home. I think we might win one of those.

We are probably underdogs against S.C., Georgia, Ole Miss on the road. I think we might win one of those three, two would be overachieving.

Vandy on the road - probably a toss-up. I think we win that one.

7-5 would be a huge accomplishment. Not impossible with this influx of talent - but everyone we play was adding talent as well. It's the SEC.

10 - 2 = A Miracle

9 - 3 = The Ceiling...and a Surprise. May get us into the SECCG

8 - 4 = A Possibility with the right Breaks.

7 - 5 = Realistic expectations. After-all this is the SEC

6 - 6 = Breaks did not go our way.

Any record below this is not on the agenda but the Negavols will have a field day with it.....

I believe the EEs are going to have a huge impact. I also believe that the rest of the recruiting class will roll into Knoxville ready to prove their worth and get down to business. This does not mean that they will be SEC ready but it does bring a different element into the picture.

Barring injuries we could roll big time the last half of season and go 5-1. The schedule is favorable on the front half of the season. A lot of factors as to how it plays out. We have consistently been gaining momentum since the arrival of CBJ and staff. It has been an upward steady slow climb out of the hole and it has been nothing but forward progress with only few minor setbacks.

Gentleman,
This is the year. Last year was rough, we got banged up, we got beat by teams that weren't really better than you, we just made stupid mistakes. We could not hurdle over the injuries that came our way and we could not rebound after we had already dug ourselves a hole. This is the year.

Nobody expects us to do anything. Everyone expects Tennessee just to have a mediocre year and not even have a hand in on the SEC Title. The experts have counted us out, other SEC fans are making jokes, and hell, even some of our own are doubting.

This is the year that we show the nation that WE ARE TENNESSEE!!! We play our asses off from the start until the end, when it gets tough, we get stronger. If we are down by two touchdowns, we fight that much harder. If we are blowing a team out, we still put the pedal to the floor and never let off. We need to scare teams gentleman, we need to make them remember that we knocked the **** out of them for 60 minutes. Bleed, sweat, and battle through the pain. Tennessee will prevail, WE ARE TENNESSEE and we are going to take The SEC.

GO BIG ORANGE

I love the enthusiasm of the OP. I personally think it's going overboard though. We have a tremendous class coming in but we need these kids to develop first. I see 2014 as a 7-5 season. Depending on the QB situation I could see the possibility of 8 wins, but that's it.

OU and Bama are for sure losses. I think Ole Pi$$ will beat us as well. They have a little more experience on both sides of the ball and the great class they signed last year will be more experienced. A lot of people think UF is now a terrible team because of 1 season. Not true. They will be healthier this year and will be better. We will have to play a great game to beat that defense. I do think we will beat either UGA or SC. SC is more than likely that team because of all the talent they lost. UGA is going to still be tough. Remember when we played them last year they were depleted due to injuries.

I just want us to make NEyland a difficult place to play again. My prediction is we win 6 of the 7 home games and the Vandy game in Nashville. We are competitive but just are not quite experienced enough to win on the road in some tough venues...

We go 7-5 (4-4)

We go 6-1 at home. Losing only to Bama.

And 1-4 on the road. Beating Vandy.
