2015 College World Series

Why on earth wouldn't Vandy take Buehler out to save him for game 3??

Should have come out after 6 IMO

If this virginia lead holds this will be a big mistake made by Corbin IMO.

Had a commanding lead vs TCU and a chance to get Buehler out sooner last Friday. His velo was much different tonight

@aaronfitt: Just an observation: Buehler’s fastball was 95-97 in the first in his last start. It’s 92-94 in the first today, on 4 days’ rest.

The great irony is that Virginia was much better in 2014 than the 2015 version.

And I think 2015 Vandy is better than 2014 Vandy

@johnmanuelba: Back in 2001, Virginia was about to make its baseball program Division III. Now it ends the #ACC drought in Omaha with Cinderella run. Wow

I don't know how, down to the last out, you put a guy with 15 at bats and 1 hit in the game.

I don't get that.

Only power guy they had on the bench.

With the on deck guy being a singles guy the only hope was a bomb

Only mistake I question is not taking Buehler out of the Friday game after 6inn with a huge lead

The odds were better, slim but better, to string two or three hits together.

That guy didn't have a prayer

That move was conceding on Corbin's part. He basically said we can't string 2-3 hits together to tie this up, we need it in one swing. Surely you could do better than someone batting .067.

O'Connor is a top 5 coach hands down.
Miami and FSU have seen their ACC reign overtaken by 2 teams that had 4 combined tournament appearances just 10 years ago, in UVA and UofL.

As bowling green posted Corbin was conceding stringing together hits.

That kid should have had many more at bats. Serious juice in the bat. He was a big recruit out of hs

Pretty funny that Ravich said his bat took a big step forward this year after summer ball last year. His 1-15 stat really illustrated that.

Yes he was reading the bio i am sure

In state kid that would have made a difference wearing orange but instead got 16abs with 1 being very memorable

Appreciate all the discussion during this great post season.

In closing I must admit Vandy won me over to some degree and hats off to Corbin!

Hell of a program and one that will continue to haunt ours being in our backyard

The MLB draft certainly suggests that you may be right.

He can't hit a breaking ball to save his life. He might survive if he wore a disguise and played for a different team ever game of the year. Not in this day and age of scouting reports. Certainly not in the SEC.

He hit several homeruns as a freshman. Absolutely crushed them too.... Then someone threw him a curveball and watched him swing. Game over. Amazing to me he couldn't make an adjustment in 3 years. Almost looked worse this year than when he came in as a Freshman.

15 ABs in an entire year doesn't allow for adjustments.
