Tennessee has been in very good standing with her for awhile, especially since Holly and staff stuck with her through her knee injury.

Sounds like FSU or UCLA did enough for her make up her mind earlier than she anticipated.

Other guards of note that we are recruiting are Zarielle Green (6'0, TX), Jordan Nixon (5'9, NY), Janai Crooms (5'9, RI) and Zipporah Broughton (5'9, AL).

Green is a player I really like and would be versatile being able to play multiple perimeter positions (something we will need after Diamond and Jaime leave and MeMe will be the only perimeter upperclassman).

I would say we still try to get 1 or 2 more guards and at least 2 wing/forward types.

Did green make a new list? She already put out a Top 5 list with: Texas A& M, UCLA, SC, Georgia, and Kansas. Did she add Tennessee to her list?

She just announced her commitment to Georgia Tech according to Raoul. I was hoping that Massengill's commitment would swing her to Tennessee.

For all of you that did not want the local gals.... there ALL committed to other schools!!! We got Jasmine if she honors her verbal???

Hope Holly and Law can land some top guards/players for 2018!!!

While it is certainly possible that Jazmine Massengill might elect to reopen her recruiting, the fact is that the vast majority of WBB student-athletes stick with their commitments, verbal or not.

The early signing period is still 5+ months away. Tennessee is still in the running for four top guards (and, in my opinion, has room for only one, possibly two, more) and two top wings, as well as a top post. I'm not going to speculate on where the remaining recruits on the Lady Vol radar may end up, but, again, in my opinion, it's a little too early to pull a Chicken Little and proclaim the sky to be falling.

Georgia Tech also got Elizabeth Dixon, another Tennessee girl that would have looked good in orange.

GT has a pretty nice set of recruits coming in for 2018, and they're not done yet. 4 top 100 players with verbals, and in the mix for another 3. Surprisingly good for a team that hasn't been much of a factor in the ACC and national scene.

Jazmine Massengill is going nowhere but Tennessee. I've talked with her mother and that is where she wants her.

Plenty of negative comments about Tennessee girls! Read this thread from beginning to end! Plenty of comments about other recruits verses Tennessee girls. Let me know if you need quotes!

I know she goes to school in TN, but can you really label her as a "tennessee girl" ? She only came to the US a few years ago I believe.

I did not know that. It's not good to be losing recruits to georgia tech--a program that has done NOTHING in women's basketball, and I suspect that will continue to be the case.

She went to a Tennessee high school for four years.

Nicoletti from Brazil ??? From Virginia?

Amaya Brown to FSU ... they now have two guards... a poster on here said Nicoletti was down to FSU and TN. If that is true I wonder if this sways her either way? Neither guard is more highly rated but FSU is stacked at guards and wing players. Plus they got a transfer as well who is a forward but can play on the wing ... we shall see how this plays out :) with these other girls committing it make me wonder about girls like nicoletti, croom, Williams and Decosta. Also what about Jordan Nixon ? I know TN was recruiting her as well...

FSU has volume at G, but probably none of the players are as highly decorated as Nicoletti. There's not a Westbrook or Hayes in that bunch.

FSU also has a strong history of success with foreign players. That could be a factor. My guess is that if Nicoletti likes FSU, then Brown's commit isn't likely to sway her one way or another.

You are correct, that is still her top 5. Completely forgot about it... and I talk to UCLA fans daily, lol.

Balogun to GT was something I heard as a strong possibility a while back for academic reasons and because of the Nigerian community.

Amaya Brown to FSU is something that could work out really well in our favor.

I think so too about Brown going to FSU! I truly believe that gives us the clear edge for Nicoletti (do you know when she visits offically?)

I really hope we land Decosta

A Class of Nicoletti, DeCosta, Massengil, & Collins would still give us a Top 5 class imo!

Didn't add Olivia Ododa-Nelson or Chrystian Williams because I don't think we land either

We would return 7 after this year (Green, MeMe, Harris, Westbrook, Hayes, Davis, & KK) to go with the 4 player class I stated would give us 11. And with the way transfers happen we could land a grad transfer post or top JuCo one

It is just believed by many, including those with closer connections to the program that FSU and Tennessee are the front runners for her and have been for some time.

Tennessee has a much bigger need at guard and that could be an advantage. They will have at least 6 guards in the junior, sophomore and freshman classes at the start of 2018... we will have 4 (1 senior). Those numbers include 2018 commits.

Tennessee also is getting a third visit from her in the next few days (this time with both parents who are flying in from Brazil). This will be her official.

We remain is very good position with Izabel...
