Vols also offered another 2019 PG, and wouldn’t you know it he’s a guy named in that same July stock boosters article. Starting to wonder if the staff is just gonna offer everyone on that list lol...

Why did his stock rise? Last week in Las Vegas, I probably got asked more about No. 4 (McBride) of the Joe Johnson Hawks than any other player I came across. So, I settled in to figure out why and his tough and confident play were why. He can score it from deep, finishes at the rim and has a calming presence about him. Is he as good as
Frank Mason
was? I'm not sure, but he reminds a bit of what Mason looked like when he really started to take off and went to prep school to wait out a scholarship release from Towson.

Who is involved? Kansas, SMU, Oklahoma State, TCU, Loyola, College of Charleston, Murray State and others jumped in with offers during July.

Yeah, it wasn't meant as a knock on the coaches or kids. Just weird to see offers go out to two nearly identical kids, when we already have one identical kid committed already.

Little surprising with his recent hype and the bigger offers he has from bigger conferences and schools. But Houston’s style of play I think will suit his game, and he may have family there or something like that.

And of course it ain’t done until there’s ink to paper.

Dang, liked Mills. But also like Jones, and I think that kid they just offered (McBride) could be something special. Surprised he's rated so low.

Not a huge surprise, I never got the impression he was super high on UT or that this staff was focusing as much attention on him.

Jason Jitoboh (Hamilton Heights Christian Academy) has locked in four official visits with Tennessee, Florida, Illinois, and Louisville.

McBride looks like he's hard to keep in front of people. What little I saw reminds me a lot of Bone.(style of game, measurables etc) Looking at his timeline, its interesting UT didn't offer until 8/4 and still made his top 4. It'd be a kick in the testes to miss on Mann, but I wouldn't be too upset with McBride.

Are we just a name to put on a Top 4 edit for McBride? Haven’t heard much chatter about him at all...

Could’ve chosen to have a Top 3 if that was the case...

It’s interesting in that I doubt he’s a take for Kansas, Auburn is after quite a few guys hard so I’m also not sure where he sits on their board. That leaves Tennessee & TCU, I have not heard anything that makes me think Tennessee is pushing hard, Mann is still their top guy. Now he may be Plan B and someone they’re trying to get into a good spot with if things go south with Mann over the next 3 weeks. That leaves TCU and admittedly I don’t know their situation or how hard they’re recruiting him, so for all I know that could be the team to beat.

I read a piece about him from a TCU writer the other day when I googled him and clicked on the "news" tab. They seem to think TCU's staff likes him, and he's in an area they recruit fairly heavily over in Arkansas.
