Best picks: Wirfs to Bucs, Jeudy to Denver, and Queen to Ravens.
Worst: Brooks to Seattle, Wilson to Ten, Arnette to LV. All three of these-Woof!!
Oh yeah, and the Love pick as well. Yikes!

I think the Titans pick will end up being a good pick. Titans are going to keep pounding the rock next year and I like that. A work in progress? Maybe so, I don't know. But I have confidence in Vrable. He's the only Belichick guy I have that confidence in. And I say that not as a Titans fan. I def have more confidence that its a good pick because of Vrable.

I agree otherwise, except I still think Derrick Brown is a great pick. Queen is a good pick. I was hoping the Chiefs would pull him. We need a fast LB in KC. But I get it - its an offensive game these days. I trust Reid and Veach.

And I think Love is a good QB but I do NOT understand Green Bay picking him unless Rodgers has cancer or something and it hasn't been announced. I mean, I really don't understand that pick. Rodgers is signed through 2023. Are you gonna bench Love for 4 years? I mean, I guess it worked with Rodgers. It just seems like a long time. It doesnt seem like a good standard operating procedure. For me that pick is just a head-scratcher.

Who is that standing behind Vrabel?

Huh, so that's what happened to Frozone's Super Suit.

I have no problem with picking a tackle, just Wilson isn't the guy I'd have taken. No player has ever had that poor of a combine and been selected in the first round. Also, he wasn't that good last year at Georgia. I'm guessing he was selected this high because of his size. That's bold! Especially with a guy like Josh Jones still available.

Darren Sproles 2.0

I'm not so sure about that Sproles comparison. I'd agree the idea is similar but one thing most of these small backs do is make up for stature with speed. Among Sproles, MJD and Tarik Cohen for instance all are sub-4.5 guys while Helaire ran a 4.6 at the combine. That's not to say he can't succeed but he's distinctly slower than the big name little guys that come to mind.

Rumor has it Rodgers lost his **** with this pick.

I love how guys want $30m+/yr and none of the risk and roster problems that come with it.

The Packers just fired McCarthy and brought in LaFleur. This was generally considered to be because McCarthy and Rodgers had poor rapport. After one season they trade up in the draft to take Rodgers's replacement.

I really don't get it. Rodgers grates on my last ever-loving nerve, but I can understand his being irritated at this pick.

And I guess they traded up solely to get Love ahead of the Titans. Would the Titans really have taken Love? I dunno. Seems unlikely. Time will tell but Lafleur and Gutekuns look like children in a man's world.

Apparently Lafleur and Rodgers don't get along. Does Rodgers have any friends?

Considering there may not even be football this year and Rodgers might be 37 and making a boatload, this move makes a lot of sense.

Yeah, I thought it might be an indication that GB is skeptical of a season being played (both his age and their finances).

Racking my brain attempting remembrance of the last mutually amicable QB succession plan. Sure wasn’t Montana/Young in an era where a team held all the cards on timelines. Brady had to flex some muscle when Garrapallo’s talent emerged as more than a backup. Maybe an on his way out Jaworski in a two season arc making way for Randall Cunningham? Ken Anderson similarly for Boomer Esiason? Lot to be said for no social media back then.

You're forgetting the most recent one that happened in your own back yard, Dak and Romo.

Smith and Mahomes seemed to part amicably. I follow the Chiefs pretty closely. Publicly there was nothing but love.

The 2020 season in question does change the picture regarding the Love pick though.

Smith was auditioning for his next team tho and had no illusions of holding off the draft choice they had traded up to land. He had previous training being a number one overall who had to make way for Karpernick. Hardened pro I’ll agree regarding the passing of the baton.

Absolutely seamless...but aided by Romo’s preseason back injury which allowed Dak to earn the job on the field uncontested. Romo wasn’t the type to hold the franchise hostage, but I don’t think Dak would’ve even been the top backup for at least a season sans injury. Kellen Moore was the safe choice as a backup but never suited to start.
