2020 Presidential Race

I didn't realize Bloomberg was this easy to destroy in the nomination process. I wasn't aware of his skeletons. I figured he would be an easy takedown in the general due to his gun control stance. It looks to me like it will come down to a battle between the communist wing of the Democrat party and the socialist wing, or what the media calls the centrists.

I don't think anybody can get left of Bernie and be the communist candidate. Warren tried to outflank him on the left and failed, so we will have Bernie as the communist favorite. Now, we need to direct our attention to the socialist, or what the media calls the centrist Democrats. We had Biden as the heavy favorite, who incidentally never had a realistic chance, and he will leave a void. To fill that void, we have Pete, Klobuchar, and Bloomberg, with Hillary and Kerry warming up in the bullpen. I'm not ruling out Klobuchar, but she doesn't look very impressive. The so called moderates will have to coalesce around somebody to beat back the communist wing. Yang and Steyer are jokes.

If the Dem establishment beats back the communist candidate, the Bernie folks will stay home. If they don't beat the Bern, Bern gets drilled in the general.

Does the DNC place it's bets on the left making up for the middle either sitting it out or voting Trump (Sanders Option) or the middle making up for the left sitting it out (Brokered "moderate" Option).

Comes down to how you think you can win the swing states.

Alternative is punt to 2024 where Pence won't have a chance and history tells us they'll be some economic downturn in the next 4 years. Realistically that's the best option except you might lose the House along the way (at least for 2 years).

I was watching the news last night and they played a clip of Warren I think attempting to rally a crowd by yelling “ARE YOU READY FOR FUNDAMENTAL CHANGE?” My wife slowly peeked her head around the corner and asked who that woman was. I told her, she said she seems very boring. That’s the Democrats problem in a nutshell.

The nomination process will be Bernie versus someone (maybe two) representing the moderate wing.

But if Sanders loses, the notion that a significant number of his supporters will stay home and let Trump win again is just nonsense. Our loathing of him is so strong, the Dems would vote for a piece of lint to get that jackarse out of office.

So when will someone from the moderate wing jump in?

Lol.. your loathing is noted but that’s not happening. Where was all this enthusiasm in Iowa ? Lower turnout than 2016 😂

I voted for Cruz in the Tenn primary, but boarded the Trump train afterward. I hated Trump's guts before he started running. I saw just a little bit of him on the Apprentice, and thought he was an obnoxious New York prick. I still think that, but have grown to enjoy his ways.
If I was a republican, I would have voted for Rubio. Cruz won me over afterwards when I heard him say he was for term limits.

Yeah, Cruz is for term limits. Sure.

It’s funny to watch Democrats smelling their own farts about orange man bad while campaigning in two states that are both 90%+ white. They seem to all be fighting over the six black people in NH to get them at their rallies.

If by boring she meant crazy, then i agree.

Tulsi is the only moderate and even she loves her some big government social spending.
She was on Hannity last night, and he repeatedly asked her if she would legalize heroin, since she wants to do away with drug laws. She danced all around the question as Hannity asked her point blank 3 or 4 times....."would you legalize heroin, yes or no?" She would not answer the question. I have no respect for her non answer.

That’s because she’s in favor of legalizing all drugs

I'm not sure how this works out in the end, but my hunch is the establishment part wins , and then loses.
