2020 Presidential Race

You mean you understood what I was talking about? I can’t imagine how...

I was just genuinely curious whether it was made up or not.

Population below the poverty line:
Kentucky: white: 586k; black 93k
Arkansas: white: 312k; black 132k
Oklahoma: white: 365k; black 74k
Mississippi: white: 208k; black 334k
Alabama: white: 382k; black 349k
Louisiana: white: 358k; black 434k
South Carolina: white: 356k; black 331k
West Virginia: uncontested.

2 of 8 isn’t so bad, I guess.

When it became obvious he was FOS and had no basis, I looked around on my own. I did find a 2004 political scientist’s research saying there was a fairly strong correlation between poor voters in poor states and voting democrat.

Given the growing correlation of people without a college degree voting Republican (see FL’s link) and the very strong negative correlation between a college Degree and poverty (see the Census data he linked) plus my own anecdotal observations of poor southern whites... I'm skeptical that this research is still valid.
I like how you have proved my point as to why so many Southern states are poor. Pat yourself on the back!..But shame yourself for not understanding the original post.

Oh..dont put too much faith into the whole college degree thing. Its all based off what people said, not actual factual data. Think of it like this: You think you are right. Reality says you are wrong.

I am a little surprised that there are more blacks below the poverty line in Louisiana, but I have only ever been to New Orleans, and I'm not familiar at all with other parts of the state. For the most part, he is wrong... but I will concede Mississippi and Louisiana.
There are always more blacks below the poverty rate per capita no matter where you look. In some states they actually outnumber the Whites. Its like crime. They commit more murders than anyone else no matter what. They commit more crime per capita for everything else even though Whites might commit more number wise.

But lets not turn this into a race thing. Hopefully you understand why those states you mentioned are "poor" compared to others. And to think, I'm not even getting paid to teach you dullards.

I’m really not.

I don’t really want to share personal information about my life before law school but I had significant experience with poor people in Appalachia and the Delta and I found the two areas to be very similar in that they’re warm, kind, respectable people. The demographics are just nearly reversed.
Oh jesus. Another "lawyer" here. LOL

Yall need to come up with something more believable, like Sub-Saharan Pottery Wet Nurse.

These articles are directly on point and refute all the typical right-wing/FoxNews talking points ...

"The evidence corroborating Ford’s claims is voluminous: It includes everything from Ford’s description of Kavanaugh’s drinking buddies, to Kavanaugh’s July 1 calendar entry that describes his plans to go to “Timmy’s for skis with Judge, Tom, P.J. Bernie and … Squi,” to Mark Judge’s memoir outlining his and “Bart O’Kavanaugh’s” drinking habits, to Kavanaugh’s Beach Week letter discussing “prolific pukers.” There is a slew of other evidence corroborating Ford’s claims. (Seth Abramson wrote a detailed Twitter thread about all the corroborating evidence; it is worth reading.)"

Lmao.

Dude you are hilarious.

The fact that you believe this garbage is even funnier.

I do. The inadequacy of the systems of public education within those states, combined with their lack of appeal to industry and commerce. It has nothing to do with race.

When most lawyers are in court arguing cases or working on their briefs all day and begging for just a second of time to catch a quick meal, our resident lawyers have endless amounts of free time and never seem busy.

Just makes you go hmmmmmm.

Do you truly think per capita measures are relevant to a state’s overall level of poverty, or are you just that insecure and embarrassed about being wrong?

Because I have news for you: if it’s the latter, this ain’t helping.

Of course. Neither does the lowering of the IQ score to label someone as mentally deficient. Nope. Not genetics. All about public schools not getting enough money, or people investing in low income communities and raising property values/taxes..

You think 70 people argue in court all at once?

Sounds fun, but no.

If you go by percentages, based on racial makeup, then the following states would need this many white people in poverty to make it equal with blacks below the poverty line.

Instead of 586K whites, Kentucky would need approx 1,070,000 whites below the poverty line.
Instead of 358K whites, Louisiana would need approx. 716,000 whites below poverty line.
Instead of 356K whites, South Carolina would need approx. 767,000 whites below poverty line.
Instead of 382K whites, Alabama would need approx. 1,050,000 whites below poverty line.
Instead of 208K whites, Mississippi would need approx. 390,000 whites below poverty line.
Instead of 312K whites, Arkansas would need approx. 750,000 whites below the poverty line.
Instead of 365K whites, Oklahoma would need approx. 850,000 whites below the poverty line.

Black have far greater percentages of their population below the poverty line than whites in these states. I can't do WV because there is no data. To understand the above, Alabama has approx. 3 times as many whites as blacks, so there would need to be 3 times as many whites below the poverty level to be equal. Instead, they are almost equal.

Nope. That's something you and blowbrother decided to bring up. I'm just pointing out facts. I'd wager a nickel that the per capita poverty level per race probably doesn't look to good for predominately democrat voting types but that isn't the point.

Reminder..the original incorrect vomitos was that all those Red states were poor because of all those red hat White Trumpers.

Just walk away. You need to heal up before November.

Well according to him, he’s now saying that he was explaining why the states are poor. I don’t think per capita measures are relevant to that.

In fairness to you, that’s a new fabrication on his part so if you were behind on the thread you wouldn’t have known that.

So you made it up and have no actual support for it.

Thank you that is all I was asking.

He is dead wrong and I just explained why. There are many more white people in those southern "red" states, such as Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama... etc., living in poverty, than there are black people.
8 million plus whites in those 3 states , and less than 3 million blacks......duh.

That isn’t relevant to his original post or his new fabrication.

First he was saying democrats are poor and can’t pay the bills and that the white folks who vote republican in those poor states aren’t poor. How is this supported by relative per capita poverty levels? It’s not.

Now, he claims he was explaining why those states are poor (lol). But even he admits per capita measures don’t have any relevance to that.

You guys can’t even keep your own ******** straight.

That is being hyper-sensitive. This is the sort of thing that will only be of bother to someone who is going in search of offense. A word's definition doesn't change due to any individual's given set of circumstances. "Not a good look for him"??? It's not a good look for the people of Breitbart, who apparently didn't realize that the meaning of the word "intercourse" doesn't necessarily have to include a sexual component.
Good luck spinning that, Joe's a dunce and he shows it each time he attempts to string together two sentences.

There are very few poor people in this country, compared to the rest of the world. My response is that some of you want to denigrate the South, white people without a college education, conservatives, Trump supporters etc. We aren't stupid as a group, although some are, just like on your side.

... and isn't it also correct, that Donald Trump's largest constituency of voters are white men, over 40 and without a college degree? I'm pretty sure that is true. I've read that in several different places.

There’s only one person here making fun of those people, and you’re defending him.

There is no spin necessary. The only thing necessary is either a dictionary, or a preexisting knowledge of the multiple meanings of the word "intercourse". Call Joe Biden a "dunce" if you want to, but at least in this instance, he seems to have a better understanding of the multiple meanings of a word than the editors of Breitbart did, who mistakenly thought they had caught him in another gaffe.... or perhaps a "Freudian slip".

If true, do they not deserve representation the same as the collection of whatevers on your side?
