2020 Presidential Race

I actually am curious to see how the economic growth numbers influence the election. Especially since most polls are just about done. My guess is it won’t make much of a difference, but I sort of wish we could have seen this a couple weeks ago to see if it had any meaningful impact.

America is so deeply partisan now on both sides, it is just going to be a matter of who drives out their base better

But what about the other ballots found in random trucks at the airport? There could be like 500,000 votes or something.

Purely by accident, they got misplaced. You know like you do your car keys or something.
Maybe they weren't misplaced but hidden. You know like you do a drunk's car keys or something.

Also, what is the safeguard against voting by mail and then voting in person? If they mail it the day of then go vote in person will the system kick it out? Also, is there punishment for those that attempt to vote more than once?
In GA, if you requested a mail in ballot, you cannot vote in person unless you bring your blank mail in ballot with you.

I am more cynical than most, but I don't think there is a whole lot of news which would sway the election on way or the other. In fact, this may the most polarized the voters have ever been.
I agree. I have never seen it this polarized and hope to never again.......but Trumpism obviously made it inevitable.

The backlash against Trump, regardless of what he did or didn’t do in his first term, was preordained in 2016 when he beat the most qualified candidate ever. That was unforgivable to the Dims.

Yeah, has absolutely nothing to do with Pompous Maximus. Most Dems including myself never cared much for Hillary, and that's really TRump's biggest issue this time is that Joe, while old and maybe slightly demented, is not someone that is disdained by both sides.

And this would be an easy Trump landslide if he wasn't such a monumental @sshole

Not sure if serious...

The backlash against Trump, regardless of what he did or didn’t do in his first term, was preordained in 2016 by the divisive and combative way in which he chose to run his campaign, post election transition, and first few days in office.

It had absolutely nothing to do with who he "beat". That's just an easy cop-out for Trump apologists.

Democrats are mad because they have no control over Trump. They piss & moan bc he doesn't belong to them.
Trump was voted in as an outsider to come in to change things up & Dems are still crying bc they don't get their way.

Do you feel like the dislike for Joe by Dems and Independents is anywhere near that of Hillary by those two groups?
Oh he probably isn’t as hated as Hillary by the people who hate her and there are plenty on both sides but there were also many who loved Cankles. She is divisive.

Like it or not Joe is also divisive. He has already failed in this goal what two or three times? He is not some universally supported Democrat and the large number of far left can’t stand him.

Rifleman posted yesterday voter participation is increasing the last few elections. I expressed concern about it. Participation increasing as candidate quality is decreasing is not good. I think the parties will be convinced higher turnout increases their odds at winning and that substandard candidates actually increase participation. It's a bad recipe.

Hillary is like Trump in that way. Love or hate. Not much middle ground. Joe is the opposite, no love or hate, just middle ground.

Joe has been in DC since the dawn of creation and has done nothing there but make things worst.
He has this "plan now" to make everything sweet & normal.....coming from a guy who doesn't know what day it is...

I think you're right. There's nowhere near the sheer dislike for Biden that there was for Hillary.

As for the last sentence, Trump surely does himself no favors with his behavior, but the second Covid-19 started affecting the economy, I don't think it was going to be easy for any incumbent.

Fair enough, I'll admit he wasn't my first choice.
