2020 Presidential Race

I have zero percent concern about “my backlash”. You should really take inventory on how you think a POTUS should be able to talk **** but you want posters on here to be better.

So you feel the president being an ass gives you a free pass now?

Okie dokie.

To me we need more like the young lad below in DC and less with the "high class" mentality View attachment 320877

I'd like to go back to a time when congressional disputes were resolved with canes and spittoons, or duels for the particularly hard headed. The GOP would then learn to get tough or die.

Respectfully disagree. The Constitution states in Article 1, Section 4 simply that it’s up to each state to determine “The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections.” "Holding elections" does not necessarily state how votes are tabulated. This could easily be amended much like voting rights have been amended. Perhaps we should also go back to the original "voice vote" when people had to go to the polls and publicly declare who they were voting for. Point being... when the founders wrote the constitution fraud was not an issue because the voting process was essentially the same in every state. Look at the mess we have now.

"manner of holding elections" - you think that leaves wiggle room for a national mandate on the manner of holding elections?

don't even start down the path of the "Founders didn't anticipate" because that's a Pandora's box I doubt you want to open; 1st, 2nd and 4th Amendment in particular.

having been an adult at that time I can tell you that it was because the good ole USA had a near decade of losing from Vietnam through gas lines through a major recession and he basically said F-this, we are the best country on the planet and let's act like it. He did a major (and long needed) reform of the tax code, he reversed the national mentality of we suck to we don't suck or at least don't suck that much and his policies led to the demise of the Soviet Union.

the biggest downside is he launched the era of massive deficits

other than that, yes he was a celebrity

Reagan lacked something - perhaps genuine intellect - and let insiders steer him to some decisions that didn't go well. A great example is the sudden discovery of "overfunded" pension plans and the "corrections" that turned into windfalls for investors and bankrupt pension plans for retirees. The thing about Reagan was he could certainly act presidential, and in doing so was more than the Russians could cope with.

I’m telling you, Twitter is there only as a vapid echo chamber. Take everything with a massive grain of salt.

saw an analysis of how small the # of heavy Twitter users is - basically it's like 4chan. Crazy it is taken so seriously but I guess the same is true of any given media outlet - all are micro audiences
