2020 Presidential Race

Again, stupid post. I'm just going to assume you guys are resorting to laziness because you can't think of genuine counter-arguments.

And most aren't arguing to actually split the country, they're simply explaining why the EC exists and the ramifications of abolishing it.

Please link the events her group actually ran. She partnered with a lot of events that were already scheduled to happen, and then claimed them for herself.

She's the kid in the group project who just eats snacks the whole time people are working but makes sure her name is put first because she was part of it.

“Makes sure her name is put first”

The over / under betting line for Biden's margin of victory.
I had more than 4.3 million.

Seriously, it reflects the will of the people far more accurately than the electoral college.

I guess the electoral college is supposed to somehow reflect the will of the states.
State government is supposed to reflect the will of the people in each given state. Federal government is supposed to reflect the will of the states. What is so hard to understand about United STATES?

Haha. Straight from the Trump playbook. When all else fails, throw Hunter's name out there.
As opposed to screaming Russia? It really is funny to see one side act like they have a claim of superiority over the other when talking tactics.

What are the alternatives? Civil war, imo, is not something we should be entertaining.
If the gov't has bypassed the will of the people and begins assigning us our leaders? It's not worth it?

I guess, if it ever proves to be the case, that's what they'd be counting on.

Trump has been the imposter from Among Us for four years, they finally got that dude voted out 😂

I do like the electoral college. I understand why it exists and I don't necessarily want anything changed... However, it should not be possible to lose the popular vote by over 4 million and still win the election.

Is there something magical about four million vote margins? Does that invalidate the design of the federal republic system of government the FFs came up with? Do we need an amendment that says the Electoral College is well and fine unless WHOA! we hit a four million vote difference.

The Founding Fathers understood that a purely democratic system would eventually shake itself to pieces. The power originally reserved to the states was a negative feedback system to the power of the central federal government. I believe there is some truth to the old saw, democracies never survive the population realizing they can vote themselves a paycheck.

Let's take minimum wage for an example. In a purely democratic vote, I have absolutely no doubt the country would vote to raise the minimum wage to the magical number of $15/hour and that vote would be centered in and around large urban areas where the cost of living is substantially higher than in rural areas. Well, isn't that nice? An excellent way to shut out one's competition within the nation all based on a "fair" popular vote. And a minimum wage law is pure economic hokum (if $15 guarantees prosperity, then why not $40? $50? Oh, heck, lets just make it an even $100) and nothing more than a way to stifle economic competition from one's neighboring state with a lower cost of living because they manage things differently. But hey, the national popular vote decreed it, so to hell with flyover country.
