What possible selling point could Trump tout regarding his response to the pandemic? "I blamed it on China" and "It's a hoax" seemed to fall kinda flat with the majority of the electorate.

He could have laser focused on the economic impacts of the response and eked it out by tying that into his 2016 themes of fighting for middle America. It’s widely reported that his advisors wanted him to do just that. It would have been loosely attached to the truth, sure, but incumbents generally win if they can just talk about what people are thinking about in their own lives.

Either side, with few exceptions, would likely be fine with whatever it takes for their candidate to win the election. Trump and his supporters were sure voter fraud would happen prior to the election. It's no surprise they're so convinced it did happen now that it appears he lost. Any irregularities or issues they don't understand are seemingly labeled as fraud.

However, most of the legal battles being fought are without merit and/or involve an insignificant amount of ballots. Right now it just looks like an attempt to erode the confidence in the election outcome. A responsible leader would prove that the mass voter fraud allegations are true in court before proclaiming them to be so, or before claiming he is the rightful winner of the election. But I believe that Trump would burn everything down if he could be president of the ashes.

People took more time casting their vote as they took this one more seriously then past ones. Turnout would be an example of people taking this one more seriously
