2020 Presidential Race

So I guess what the Dems are saying is that an outside country can steal an election but not a party mailing millions of unsolicited ballots and rejecting very few of them can't?

You know the only state that sent ballots due to pandemic where Trump had a slim chance to win was Nevada. A state HRC won in 2016. That’s the only one.

The others were CA, NJ, VT, and DC. Another 5 states had already been doing mail ballots for a few years including Utah which Trump won.

Not PA. Not MI. Not WI. Not GA. Those states you had to request your mail/absentee ballot.

So throw out NV mail in ballots and Biden still wins because he was 1) leading on ED 2) has enough EC votes from other states.

Trump should have embraced mail voting. It may have helped his perception that he was taking the pandemic seriously which was a big factor for swing voters against him. But this is really what he wanted the whole time. To claim victory of ED and then cry about the mail in ballots favoring Biden.

So all the additional hoops people had to jump thru with the naked envelopes, declaration page, and signature only 1k out of 2.6 million were wrong? So this election but not the primary in the spring where there was a 1.4% error rate wasn't important? I can no longer take you seriously as a poster if you are sticking with that answer...you have slidden down to sheep or troll status

November Surprise: Fewer Ballots Rejected by Election Officials

Essentially this is happening all over the country. And most election officials are crediting it to a few things:

Voters becoming more familiar with mail in voting
Voters taking more time to fill their ballot out
Better education and communication on how to fill these ballots out. Essentially a more educated electorate on the process.

House races show R with 208, leading in 3 more and tied in 3 more. D with lead in 4. Could end up 221 - 214 D control.

Reddish wave in House

That will make for some interesting bedfellows with the Dems having a disagreement about the path the party needs to take .

Can't read the article (paywall) but did they include the relaxing of signature rules? Would be interesting to see a count of how many ballots were accepted that would have failed the prior process rules.

Newest results from my personal analysis: Across the same PA dataset that Trump lost over 408,000 votes, Biden lost none.

Can anyone here manually read json data? I'd like to link to the data and release a few vote loss timestamps so people here can independently validate as spot-checks. If this is something we want to discuss, it may be of benefit to have verified examples by more than one person.

I agree. Trump should have gone completely different on mail in voting. I’d still like to see those states not counting till all votes are in and only count in front of both parties representatives. It would eliminate a lot of the suspicion. Better transparency solves a lot of this

Nothing solves this as long as Trump loses. He would have complained about being cheated regardless of how it happened.

I’m in a wait and see mode. im not willing to turn a blind eye because I don’t want it to be true

There is probably always some small amount of fraud that gets through here and there, and all that should be investigated and punished. There wasn't the sort of fraud Trump is alleging. Most localities in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Arizona are run by Reps who want him to win. They would all see the discrepancies in their state's reported data from their known ballot counts and scream bloody murder if a large number of votes were shifted. Millions of people watching returns come in always quickly spot any anomalies, which are usually products of simple human error, and they are always quickly fixed.

In short, the average American election worker is not dishonest, but the President is not honest.

min going to stop you right there. This is where we agree. Trump and his followers are irrelevant to my argument that we can do better and do so very easily

Sure. Post an example of a loss from one timestamp to the next.

Even if you concede the following states to Trump:

North Carolina (15 electoral college votes) - and it should be called for Trump soon.
Georgia (16 electoral college votes)
Arizona (11 electoral college votes)
Nevada (6 electoral college votes)

This only leaves Trump with 265 electoral college votes. There is not a path to 270 electoral college votes for Trump without winning one of the states among Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan or Minnesota. That is a fact.

These are the current margins for Biden in those 4 states:

Wisconsin (plus 20,000)
Pennsylvania (plus 50,000)
Michigan (plus 146,000)
Minnesota (plus 230,000)

The vote counting appears to be over in Wisconsin. The counting in Pennsylvania continues to increase Biden's lead, which is already beyond the threshold for a recount. For Trump to win, his legal team will have to find systemic fraud in either Wisconsin or Pennsylvania, but by their own admission in court - THERE IS NONE!
