2020 Presidential Race

What are you talking about? Social Media began censoring conservatives. When they complained about it, they were told to get their own platform if they didn't like it. When they did just that, this is what you pass around?

Craziness.
Apparently libertarians are now cheerleaders for censorship by media, principles be damned.

You were not banned for your political views. If you were banned, it was for breaking rules.

That’s an absolute statement which assumes absolutely that the rules are not politically or ideologically structured.

Tell me why the NY Post article regarding the Bidens was locked out for weeks. Tell me how that’s remotely healthy for liberty, and free and fair elections.

It’s absolutely denial to think that Twitter, Facebook and google are not pushing a one sided agenda. The left slanting the news brought us Fox News which regularly murders the others in the ratings. Now the left is pissed off at competition for Twitter. It’s like their incapable of objectivity or even learning from mistakes.

So if they were banned, why is going to parler considered going to a safe space?

They would have gladly chosen to stay, but they were evicted from the platform.

You're brighter than this, huff.

It's actually a very libertarian view. I believe that any private company should be able to censor anything they want on their platform unless they have other gov't protections as "platforms" as opposed to "publishers", which current SM companies do.

I will also admit that it gets fuzzy with my libertarian tendencies if the social media companies are censoring with an agenda to alter elections. Not sure how I feel about that.

You'd think the ones banning them would be the ones accused of "safe spaces", eh?

Lol
No he’s not.
@Rasputin_Vol your problem is that you think everyone is as reasonable as you. You have the ability to talk about what you believe and even be convinced you are wrong. You actually care about truth. That’s just not the case with most people.

Not that you should care what I think.
I’ll butt back out now.

I agree they should run their business as they see fit....without legal protection. They are clearly editing content so they are publishing.

So... everything from the New York Times then?
Not necessarily. I’d have to look and I’m to lazy too But I think I remember reduced something of there recently on the upcoming challenge to SCOTUS on private prisons violations of the 13th.
But I could be misremembering

I understand that fully; I’ve indulgently voted libertarian numerous times. Switching from censorious platforms to those that are not censorious is also a libertarian view, or at least used to be.

The point is any entity positioning themselves as either merely a platform for information or as a journalistic entity, degrades society and liberty when they adopt a partisan political position. And that taking such a position, regardless of their right as a private entity, Is not promoting of liberty and liberal access to information (“free markets and free minds” the Reason slogan) but the inverse. Again, Huff cannot be a “free minds” guy while taking a jab at people for breaking with censorious groups.

‘Platform’ protections should be removed from Google, Twitter, and FB. Conservatives and libertarians should leave these information censors in droves; defunding instead of rewarding illiberal practices designed to mold society into their technocratic image.

Or join the ‘Democrats’.
