There are good and fine people on both sides. That is hardly heaping praise on the GOP. Biden is saying that there are good Republicans but they are intimidated by Trump's bullying. Biden is signaling a return to a less combative and a more civil and dignified tone, where bi-partisanship could exist, which I think this country is ready for.
If Biden gave a nationally televised speech talking about how the army took over "airports" during the Revolutionary War, would he be more suitable then?
I noticed that too.Wait, so we have a @BowlBrother85 and @BowlBrother86?
Not sure what you mean by this. There was a full fledged recession in the early 90's. It just didn't begin and end when everyone seems to think. Throughout 1989 and 1990, the economy was weakening as a result of restrictive monetary policy enacted by the Federal Reserve. The immediate cause of the recession was a loss of consumer and business confidence as a result of the 1990 oil price shock, coupled with an already weak economy.Clinton and the Dems/media did the same thing in 1992.
You left out the wimp factor. Didn’t the media have some fun with that. Not sure what you mean by this. There was a full fledged recession in the early 90's. However, this was just a normal business cycle and we quickly recovered. President George H.W. Bush did a very poor job during his 1992 reelection bid of explaining how the economy was already in recovery. Part of his problem, was that he had lost trust with the American people over breaking his 1988 campaign promise to not raise taxes (Read my lips! No new taxes!) and part of his problem was that he just wasn't a good campaigner. His message was completely negative. That doesn't work as well when you are an incumbent with a record to defend. The 1992 Republican National Convention was centered around "family values" and attacks against Bill Clinton's character when it should have been focused on the economic recovery that was already happening. The Bush campaign just wanted to talk about Bill Clinton's character flaws... it was the wrong message at the wrong time. The media had nothing to do with his downfall.
Michael Moore: Let’s Hope ‘The Squad’ Is the Face of the Democratic Party ‘Because That’s How We’re Going to Win’
Friday on MSNBC’s “The 11th Hour,” liberal documentary filmmaker Michael Moore said he was all for Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) being the face of the Democratic Party, a suggestion President Donald Trump has made in recent weeks.
“Let’s hope that Alexandria and Rashida and Ilhan and Congresswoman Pressley are the face because that’s how we’re going to win,” Moore said to host Brian Williams. “We’re going to win with people who believe that climate change is real. We’re going to win by getting behind people who want to raise the minimum wage, who are going to fight for all these things that the American public wants. That’s ‘The Squad.’ They’re the force out there.”

Mayor Pete Should Probably Drop Out Already

Many agree that there are way too many white dudes running for president in the Democratic primary. As the third round of debates draws near, some Democrats are beginning to wonder why some of the low-polling vanity candidates shouldn't quit the presidential race and run for a statewide office they might actually have a shot at winning.
Buttigieg is the ideal vanity candidate for rich white liberals with graduate degrees. He dominates in the "boat shoe" strongholds of Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, and Cape Cod. He speaks obscure languages and plays the didgeridoo, because of course he does. And yet he's still trailing frontrunner Joe Biden by 25 points, according to the Real Clear Politics polling average. In fact, Mayor Pete is only a couple points ahead of Beto at this point. The latest Fox News poll has him tied with Andrew Yang at 3 percent.
Buttigieg doesn't have to stay in Indiana and run for governor, but if Democrats are interested in aggressively winnowing the enormous field of presidential candidates, what exactly is the point of keeping Buttigieg over Yang? Why not just accept the fact that they're probably going to be stuck with Biden and hope he doesn't blow it like Hillary did?
