I think they are trying an interesting strategy. Run hard left to motivate the left base. Don’t run back to the center during the general. Just run as not Trump to motivate the middle/undecided. You will laugh and say bad strategy but I don’t think I have ever seen a level of hate for a president that exists like this.It shouldn't be. We're talking about the office of the Presidency. It should be about far more than replacing one asshat with an asshat that shares your political ideology.
Trump was smart last time around. He, and his handlers, saw a path to victory when reviewing their own polling data. This time, which was a bit ago, Trump had a temper tantrum when his internal polling got leaked. Finally a decent methodology with 36/36/24%. I am telling you guys and gals, always look at methodology when citing poles. That last Fox pole was bunk.

I think that strategy works fine with their base. It doesn't play near as well with independents. Maybe I'm wrong, and maybe it isn't the independent vote that will decide this election, but if it is, the left needs to give a better reason than "but Trump". They need a real platform that Americans can buy into. They don't currently have that, and without it, it's hard for me to see them winning.I think they are trying an interesting strategy. In any normal election I would agree. I am just saying that most “independents” know the extreme **** won’t get passed anyway. I openly admit I have predicted the down fall of trump and been wrong. I just think his supporters have a huge blind spot this go around. And that’s millennials. They will have a record turn out IMO. And they are not voting trump.I think that strategy works fine with their base. It doesn't play near as well with independents. Maybe. I just don't see anyone the left is currently offering as better than Trump. And that's not a defense of Trump, that's an indictment on who is seeking the Dem nomination. They're all horrible choices, including Trump. But that's JMO. But we'll see what the people decide. In any normal election I would agree. I'm hoping to replace a gigantic asshat, the biggest of all time, with a much smaller and normal sized asshat - of either party, but preferably mine.It shouldn't be. We're talking about the office of the Presidency. It should be about far more than replacing one asshat with an asshat that shares your political ideology.
