Trump To Visit Georgia; Calls Ossoff A ‘Lightweight,’ Warnock ‘Probably A Communist’

President Donald Trump said he plans to hold a rally in Georgia in early December on behalf of Senator David Perdue (R-GA) and Senator Kelly Loeffler (R-GA), both of whom are running against Democratic challengers in a pair of January special elections.

Trump called Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff, who is running against Perdue, a “lightweight” who “doesn’t deserve to be there,” specifically invoking his failed 2017 House bid. “The other one,” said Trump in reference to Loeffler’s opponent Raphael Warnock, “is either a communist or a socialist. I can’t figure that one out yet, but he’s either a communist or a socialist, probably a communist. This is not for Georgia.”

He will hurt Perdue and Loeffler more than help them, so I hope he spends lots of time in GA.

That's exactly why I'm saying that the more Trump makes this about him, the more dems will be motivated to vote against his interests.
Trumps already been taken care of. The GOP would be screwed if his supporters don’t turn out. The anti Trump vote isn’t really relevant since he’s out of here soon.

If he is relevant enough to come to GA to encourage the vote, he is relevant enough to encourage the anti-vote.

I think there is a large percentage of the GOP vote that likes Trump, but I also think that a lot of the country, including people in GA, who want to be done with him. If he's roaming around GA claiming he's still gonna be the president I don't think he helps. He's a catch-22.

I will just put it like this. It’s very clear the Dem embrace of “defund the police” didn’t go the way they thought it would. It’s already been shoved down their throats. And it will continue in GA. The anti Trump folks, who still majorly voted for GOP candidates in GA won’t change, unless they feel like they must bc they are stupid enough to believe the election was stolen from him.

I don't think Trump is going to change any minds, but he may suppress turnout for the Republican candidates. I wouldn't hitch my cart to his horse if I were a candidate, but like I said its a catch-22.

He won’t suppress GOP turnout here any more that he did across the country. Election Day was a good day for the GOP overall. That’s likely to continue regardless of trump.

Even in the presidential it's hard to say record breaking numbers "hurt" the GOP. It wasnt enough to win, but 70+million votes is a big improvement.

Even beyond the total number he improved among minorities.

Democratic fight emerges ahead of appointment to fill Kamala Harris' Senate seat

Prominent African Americans officials would like California Gov. Gavin Newsom to pick Reps. Karen Bass or Barbara Lee to replace Harris, the only Black woman serving in the Senate. But many Latinos, who comprise a plurality of Californians, want Newsom to choose the first Latino or Latina senator in the state’s history, such as California Secretary of State Alex Padilla, Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia or state Attorney General Xavier Becerra.
