I can’t speak for their coach, but I would bet you, every single player on Vandy would rather play state fairly, win or lose, instead of having this happen.

There isn’t a coach in any sport who would prefer to advance by forfeit versus playing.

The NCAA made a stupendous decision by eliminating North Carolina State for positive Covid 19 tests and I hope MSU or Texas wins the College World Series.

Not a single sporting event should ever be canceled again for covid. Just pull for MSU who will get a fully rested Vandy team.

As much as I normally want stuff settled on the field I can’t totally disagree with this. At this point whoever wins this next game is at a severe disadvantage and it’s not a result of their future opponent earning the advantage on the field.

I thought all of the Vandy “traveling party” was vaccinated or maybe they were just saying the players were. Even so, if even one comes up positive then they have to, in all fairness, test the entire team, vaccinated or not. That’s what they did to NC State. I love college baseball, but this is so arbitrary and unfair, full of rumors, that it really has sucked the enjoyment out of the CWS. It just isn’t adding up.
