I was curious on this, so I went back through the last 10 CWS dating back to 2010. There are 20 teams that made it to the Championship Series, and here is how their paths break down:Anyone know how often a team has come from the loser's bracket to win the CWS? Seems like the finals series sitting almost on top of the two brackets makes it nearly impossible for a team that loses a game to have a shot at winning it all.
So you don’t lose one and out? Good! The finale should be 3 out of five IMHO. These young athletes work so hard to get here. I would hate to see any team have one really bad game and go home. Lose two or three...you had a fair shot.
The championship series starts it over, so even if you lose 1 in your 4-team bracket and the other team won 3 straight without losing, it's still best of 3 in the championship series. Best of 5 is way too taxing on a college pitching staff. So you don’t lose one and out? Good! The finale should be 3 out of five IMHO. These young athletes work so hard to get here. I step away from the forum yesterday to go to the game, and it's taken off like kudzu Thanks to some super easy to use software, here's a tweet I took great pleasure in putting together this morning. We like being a home for some Vols each summer.
@cobbwebb0710 I can’t photoshop a ‘stache, but since the Vols are the villains, how about this with a famous mustached villain? (I do hope Mr. & Mrs. Preacherman enjoy this attempt at humor)That’s awesome, but...could you at least photoshop a stache on Kirby?
GBO!!
