2021 Lady Vol Recruiting Thread

walker is coming back anyway she is a junior with Rae and then she has another year because of covid...Keyen is a senior

Sorry wrong year. But on the “Covid year so she can come back anyway”, the school has to be willing. There were several football players that were not going to be invited back before the January 16 cluster.

you do know Baylor also wanted Jordan Walker right

Great, and? Do you think Mulkey is losing sleep over this one?

Look, Walker seems like a great kid, and it's obvious her teammates love her. But she's a depth piece on a high level power 5 team, nothing more. Same with Green, who Notre Dame apparently wanted. Kellie had both players STARTING to begin the season. Really bad misevaluation by our coach...

Well that was the best Kellie could do in the portal last offseason, so....
Last season was last season. Kellie is in a much better position this year to grab some quality grad transfer. Kids want to go out a winner in their last go round and he has proven she can be a top 20 program. Kids who think they can get a shot at the W will be looking to play for a high visibility program that is winning. Kelly can grab 2 or 3 bridge players until the 2022 class gets here.

Wow.
Jordan Walker is new to the SEC and last night was a tough one for the entire team. She should work on shooting but I love her aggression and can’t wait to see what’s he looks like with another season or 2 under Kellie and Co. if for any reason Caitlin Clark wanted to transfer out... I wouldn’t be unhappy lol

However, I like this team both the ready of this season and next season. I want to see the continued development of Key and Horston as well as if Burrell takes another step forward. With those three in the starting lineup next year we have a “Big Three” along with Marta, who hopefully will be fully healthy and understand the speed of the game a bit more, we’re fine. I truly believe at least one of the freshmen will come in prepared to make some noise if not more than one. I trust the coaches and they haven’t been wrong thus far in their assessments.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I am so tired of adults on here saying 18/19 year olds are busts, horrible etc! I see progress in all of them! Rennia wasn’t Rennia as a freshman and last year it was Rae who needed to be benched and would never learn to let the game come to her. Please God that none of our great kids wanders onto this forum and reads some of these stupid statements. Social media is at best a mixed blessing.
We should be thankful that all of these great young women chose to be Lady Vols! One final reiteration, Jordan Horston will be, after Rennia, our next All American.

Not sure if anyone posted our recruits’ updated Hoopgurlz rankings but they seem to have dropped:

#43 Sara Puckett
#45 Karoline Striplin
#62 Kaiya Wynn

Brooklynn Miles has fallen outside the Top 100.

This happened when premier took over as the rating service. They are based in Texas and were usually mostly involved in rating Texas players in the past. This is their first year doing the ratings for ESPN we'll see how it turns out. Puckett and Striplin rate better with most other services. Wynn JMO is far better than number 62. I think Miles may need to be in the lower part of 100 right now she can be erratic in her play and we'll have to see whether she is a capable perimeter shooter as she progresses. One thing for certain with her is her ball handling skills and her speed they are both as good as anyone in that class.

From the tape I have seen on these players, we got a bunch of very good players who will help rebuild our program.

Karoline has hit 168 of 191 Free Throws as a senior for 88 percent. She has scored 625 points in 23 games played. She has made 224 of 355 field goal attempts for 63 percent. For her entire career she has made 547 of 734 free throw attempts for 75 percent. She only made 55 percent of her free throw attempts as a freshman and has been averaging 80 percent since. She has scored 2869 points in 174 games played in high school. She has 1751 rebounds in 174 games played. One bad stat she is averaging 4 turnovers per game played.
