All the new players have things in common they all play more than one position and 5 shoot the three at higher than 35 percent in high school. Tess Darby, Destiny Salary, Marta Suarez Rodriguez, Karoline Striplin, and Sara Puckett. I don't have any information on what Wynn shoots from there hopefully she has a high average as well. Four of them shot 80 percent of better from the free throw line. Salary was in the mid-70's and nothing on Wynn. All were really good rebounders for their teams in high school. Darby average around 9 rebounds, Striplin double figures, Puckett 8, Salary 6 a game, Suarez was around 8 a game, don't know about Wynn her stats are a lot harder to find just knows she looks great on video on the court. Were really going for players that did a lot of things well for their teams in high school. We'll see how many of them can make the jump to college and still be efficient in these categories.
Using the composite rankings
SC no verbals. No. 2 Rivers looks imminent. So at this time they don’t qualify for this list.
1 - UConn No. 4 Deberry, No. 9 Poffenbarger, No. 20 Decharme
2 - Texas No. 6 Moore, No. 14 Harmon
3 - Notre Dame No. 3 Miles, No. 19 Citron
4 - Stanford No. 6 Demete, No. 51 (HG)Harriel
5 - Syracuse No. 10 Lattimore, Day-Wilson No. 73, Wilson No. 86
6 - Tennessee No. 36 Wynn, No. 41 Striplin, No. 52 Puckett
I give more weight to Top Ten players.
However, add in No. 18 Key And Tennessee would jump both Stanford and Tennessee in my opinion.
There are still 3 top 10 players and 9 top 25 players not committed.
She turned out great, right where her HS ranking was. Hoping for that one more step up her senior season. We've got a top 2 in Jordan Horston for 3 more years,,,
and by the way, you remember a player named Rennia Davis, she was a number 12 and look how she turned out
Two players are going to need to leave off the Syracuse roster looks like with the recent commits they have a roster of 17 either there or committed.
The watch list Teonni Key, Brooklyn Miles, Morasha Wiggins, who is Hall committing to today? McPherson? Johnson? and Shavers? Hollingshead? Maybe two of these players will be Lady Vols.
I sent Hall a short and concise DM suggesting she consider the focus of where she was looking in her picture
And the opportunity to join a program that is on track to get back to the Summitt of women's NCAA BB...Hope she takes times to read it and more so hope it influences her decision.
@Coach Jumper did you really here these is growing interest between McPherson and TN or were you just messing with us?
I have been thinking about it since you said it
One of my contacts, who is very reliable and connected, told me this and I put a lot of trust is this person,,,so no, I promise I am not messing with you
Haven't heard much about McPherson, but her coming to Tennessee really ratchets up our chances to get back in the National Championship conversation. You would have Horston and McPherson, Key and Striplin inside with Saunders, Wynn, Salary, Darby and senior Burrell as two guards. Puckett and Suarez at the three maybe also Key. I think that is a deep and talented team that could compete with anybody.
Excellent! I would add that UT is close to home, which is important to Teonni’s mom. I can see her choosing N.C. State or Lady Vols.Although I’m sure her Mom and sister will support Teonni’s decision on wherever she wants to play college basketball, here are some reasons why I think she may pick Tennessee:
1. This one’s obvious. She gets to play with her sister, and her Mom gets to watch her daughters play together for two more years, before their futures go in different paths.
2. Teonni has been to the Tennessee campus many times, so she should feel confident and comfortable there. She’s seen how all the Coaches help their players during games, and she knows the Lady Vols have great fan support, plus, she knows she will get to play, because she has seen how Coach Kellie gives her players game experience.
3. Kellie and her Assistant Coaches. Kellie won three National Championships playing for Pat Summitt, but she is not only a winner, she is a teacher, she is well spoken, she is intelligent, she treats her players with respect, she is caring, she is genuine, and she is Coaching, and recruiting, to win Championships.
4. Teonni can see that her 2021 Class at Tennessee is shaping up to be really really good. She will be surrounded by hardworking players who will drive each other to play their best.
5. This women’s basketball program is special. No other school has the legacy or name of the Tennessee Lady Vols.
6. When Teonni and her 2021 Class become Sophomores, a year that shows big improvement from the Freshman year, besides her other teammates, Tamari and Jordan will be Seniors. How cool would it be to win a National Championship with your sister!
7. The Tennessee campus is beautiful, come on, Teonni. GO LADY VOLS!!!
You have to leave three for 2022 I think that means we can go two more players. My two are Key and a point guard smaller player. I don't see six although Syracuse has a 8 player junior class going into next season.Question for all the people who want a “six-pack,” Are you fine with sacrificing the 2022 class or who do you want/think will transfer? These are the only 2 options if you realistically want 2022 recruits.
Edit: 5 also strains the 2022’s and makes it more likely a few of these 2021’a will redshirt (which is probably the opposite of why they committed to a “down” Tennessee.)
If she chooses USC we will know one of the 4 commits.
