2021 Lady Vol Recruiting Thread

But she plays like she's a Junior.
After this summer, she will play like a Sr.
@GameTime
For those who think the three ball is all Madi's about:

Coach, she is very, very impressive!
Takes the ball to the hoop like a messenger from the Alamo....Got to get through.

Is she all lady Vol coach?

She wants to be, and this summer I'm going to invest some time into training her.

Come on down Madi Hawk....
And you say you are going to help train the "little Hawk"....This is more than outstanding...

Coach my man, this little lady just may be your ticket to bigger and better things....When she is pleased with your training, she will naturally tell her friends, and this will get to Coach Kellie.....

When you meet Coach Kellie, and you will, please call her Coach Kellie, not coach K. She probably would appreciate her own name...Women love the sound of their own name.

I have met Coach K....errr...Kellie. We introduced to each other last year.
I believe Fulmer warned her about me because I was so vocal about firing Coach Warlick and he put fear into her.
If she ever gives me a chance I will prove my loyalty to this org, as I have not abandoned it and have followed and backed the team since 1975-ish.

WIth Madi, I will prove what I can do to "complete" a basketball player. She is good now, but I intend on making her Paige Beuker level if we do get to work together this summer. Which now is in the plans.

Stay tuned, GT (and others)

Kaiya Wynn, Foster
Notable: The Tennessee signee tallied a triple-double with 28 points, 20 rebounds and 12 assists in a win over Lamar Consolidated last week. She followed with 34 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in a win over Willowridge and 26 points, 12 rebounds and five steals in a win over Fulshear. Wynn, a transfer from Ensworth School in Tennessee, is averaging 29.6 points, 11.3 rebounds and 5.3 steals per game this season.
What coach Savitria Williams-Smith said: “Kaiya has been a great asset because Kaiya is that great alpha on both ends of the floor. She’ll disrupt an offense. It’s hard to pass over her. She had quick hands. It’s hard to defend her. She’s on the board. She’s just everywhere, a true alpha on the court.”

I was just thinking the same thing. Not because the other newcomers aren't equally talented, it's just that we need more help at that position.

If she can quickly adjust to the speed of the college game, her aggressive play will be a boost.

In the past, we've often focused on watching our Top Ten recruits, but I'm just as excited to see what these young ladies will bring to the program. And they'll be able to immediately be immersed in the culture instead of having to switch gears from a previous staff. It's almost like a person learning a new language from scratch instead of having to "unlearn" old habits before acquiring the new information/skills.

I don’t know if just plain footspeed helps adjusting to the speed of the college game or not. But if it does we are good because she’s a track star too. Can’t wait to see her in orange!

Just an interesting thing to note, not that it means much of anything, but Sara Puckett is ranked exactly where Rae was coming out of Highschool. Both are/were the 43rd overall player and 8th for their position (ESPN Rankings). Will be interesting to compare the two. Obviously, they have different styles of plays, but I will be eager to watch Sara's development with Rae's in mind.

I think you will see Sara with a higher basketball IQ than Rae was as a freshman. Rae took a couple years to learn to play in the team concept was always doing to much one on one. They are both hard workers that put in a lot of time on their game. I think as a junior Burrell is the better shooter especially from the three, but Sara has a couple seasons to become the player Burrell is now. Personally I think Burrell is a first team all SEC. I can't think of any players that are putting up better numbers than she is this season that play her position in the SEC. I think Sara will be something like a 15 minute a game player for us as a freshman and put up 8 to 10 points per game and four or five rebounds. She is also an excellent passer. She rarely turns is over plays totally under control and in the team concept for forty minutes.
