That would seem like absolute best-case scenario. Not sure that is incredibly realistic, though also certainly not impossible. 3 of the 4 seems very realistic, and maybe someone off the radar or a high-level grad transfer in the spring seems more likely. I’d love your scenario, though. So, my realistic wish list for 2021, Chandler, Mashack, Houstan, Jabari Smith and/or Bediako
Nobody is saying he’s off the board
I think they’ll absolutely sign 4 if they can in November and then still look at options in the spring, such as a graduate transfer. VQ has said before when the Banchero talk was happening that Tennessee would sign 5 in the fall if it was the right 5.Probably not, but we’re now officially “full” so will be interesting to see if Barnes over-signs before someone officially declares for the draft.
I still think we sign 4. But I’ve come around recently to people’s argument that Barnes will go grad transfer instead of over-signing. Who knows.

The 5 seemed like a stretch and probably reserved for absolute best case...Chandler, Mashack, Banchero, Smith and Bediako would be my guess. I definitely think they are willing to sign 4 though, I would guess attention mainly gets turned to Smith. Bediako and BHH have stayed they’re waiting until spring, and the other guys like Holmes and Etienne haven’t ever been to campus, I expect Smith to draw most all of the staffs attention if this comes to fruition.Interesting. I did not know VQ said that. These next few months should be wild.

You never miss an opportunity, do you. Nevermind the fact that you agreed with me.Buuuuut @cncchris33 said we aren’t even a factor
We are pretty much out of it on Mutumbo.
And I think this turn of events come universally as a surprise to everyone. It isn't like I made that statement in the face of compelling evidence to the contrary. Tennessee, at least publicly, had shown little to no traction with him, and he was said to have been down to a final three that didn't include Tennessee, with a decision in the near future. I think, clearly, the Banchero decision possibly caused Tennessee to pivot back towards other targets, and apparently Mutombo was one of those. There is still very little public information that link the two, so it was done both quickly, and without much media involvement.Looks that way...BHH could be an option, Smith still out there, Holmes seems open to Vols, Bediako as well, Etienne too.

I have no problem admitting I was apparently wrong. Never saw it coming. Not sure anyone did.
I was able to find the article where his supposed top 3 (Georgetown, Georgia, and Stanford) was listed, and it was based on more assumption than an official released top 3. Mutombo told Tipton Edits that he was being prioritized by those three schools on August 13th, and CasualHoya took that to mean it was his top 3. He (Mutombo) also stated on Instagram that he was ..."about to commit very soon...My recruitment is over" on August 16th. So, while it did involve some assumption, I can see where someone may arrive at that conclusion.Considering the quietness it’s also possible Tennessee has been a factor all along, as you stated the kid himself never released a Top 3, it was a generic statement from an analysts making an assumption iirc...similar to how many state Jabari Smith’s Top 3.
I was joking with you, thus the wink face, it definitely cam out of nowhere but also supports my statement about why I typically don’t remove kids unless they have eliminated Tennessee or vice verse.
